ZORQ aka BOOMAH - THE WORLD !!!REWORK!!! [320 INSIDE]

Post by zorq » Sat Oct 25, 2008 9:04 pm

ok, after a night sleep I reworked this one. there was some critique on the mixdown and the weight of the snare. I found that the synth wasn't as verocious as I wanted it to be so I reprogrammed that from scratch and I rearranged the melody. I also put on a trancey synth in the middle section for some uplifing vibes.
I came out better than before, so thanks for the comments, it sure helped a lot!

It's a bit of a stomper, with a techy(?) twist in the middle section. I used a sample from "Scarface", I'm sure you'll recognise......

you can find it on my myspacepage: http://www.myspace.com/zorq

(with the other ditties

you'll find a 320 of the new version here: http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=VT0KV0OU

don't forget to leave a comment, pleeeeeeaase.

The panning in the intro is a nice touch. The scarface sample was well chosen as it has not been used to death like many others. The bassline has a cheeky feel with melody. I'd imagine creeping around the dance floor in a naughty mood and giving a mate a wedgy.

Maybe just mp3 compression but the snare sounds like it doesn't have enough low-end to give it power. Overall I think some work is needed on the mixdown to really crispen it up but is sounds pretty tight as it is. Your tune 'eastern promise' has a crisper sound.

Anyways. Good work. Duncan.

thanks! I totally agree with you about the crispness, the mixdown isn't good enough. I'm going to work on that today. Yesterday I was working on the track for hours and I couldn't hear what I was doing anymore, so expect a new mixdown today.

noise tune.

The vocal samples in this tune are nice and not completely over used enjoyed the intro and the progession of the track.

I like how its got like a constant staggger to the track nice edits to the drums and the bass.

Could do with some sort of synth or something just sounds like its missing something imo.
