Actually just signed up to Myspace, so, I have to make a profile and all that, but, the player is working. haha.
*EDIT* Will be finishing this within a day or two, please post in here if you'd like a 320 when I'm done. I'll be happy to send it out!

I really like the concept here. The strings are fantastic, and even though it's constant throughout the whole track, the piano is nice. The percussion works pretty well. My only complaint is that the bass feels a little too gritty for such a sensuous tune, and the bass adds a muddy feel to me during the middle of the song. I also would like for the sample to be brought out a bit more, maybe that's just me though?
I'd love to get a 320 of this once you are done with it!

Yeah, I'm going to work a bit more on mastering it today and then I'll upload a 320. Anyone who wants one just post in here and I'll remember to hook you up.
Chris, your concerns are what I feel too... I'm going to make that sample pop and watch where the bass is interacting midway through the song (probably just by doing some EQ certain channels of that section to keep the bass clean).
Cheers and thanks for the feedback!

The sub bass is fine. I think the detuned bass that comes in mid-way is too grimey and doesn't sit in the mix very well.
I would love to hear some more variation in this. It is a really good tune but gets a bit repetetive towrds the end. Perhaps a chopped sample breakdown to split it up.
Overall very well produced. I like it a lot.
Duncan.

Sounds very experimental, reminds me of prog rock or the Beatles after all the acid. Not quite sure what it is though, I think the piano sounds ever so slightly out of key, as does the grimey bass. Have you time stretched the piano?
Also, I think you should take out the string sample from "Any Other Name" (thats the American Beauty soundtrack) right at the end unless you give it some processing to make it sit better.
Props for the vocal sample from Late Night Alumni "Empty Streets" though, its like spot the sample
It's a nice vibe you got going and could be quite chilling with some work!

Nope, the piano is original length, maybe it was just out of tune. Haha. I kind of like it like that.Lojik wrote:Sounds very experimental, reminds me of prog rock or the Beatles after all the acid. I didn't sample either Late Night Alumni or American Beauty. The string sample at the end is a bit of Mahler, not anything from American Beauty. Unless they used Mahler at the end of that movie. I agree though, it does need some processing to work better, that was one of the things I had written down for today.
The "aaahhhh" is actually from a porno not Late Night Alumni haha.
Thanks so much for the comments Lojik.
