all i know is some spanish breakbeat dj's/producers who like to drop some breakstep/dubstep tunes in their radio shows, but say that if they played that stuff at a party they'd be killed.

they're not in madrid though :-)

Never heard any dubstep at the time I lived in Madrid. But there are some fabulous clubs over there.

i lived in sevilla for four months and the *only* thing that wasn't absolutely perfect about the place was the complete absence of any music scene at all (clubs, gigs, anything).

plus every single bar played the postal service album and the postal service album alone, which was odd.

it's still my favourite city in the world outside ldn though.

That's weird. Sevilla, or better andalucia in general, is like the last stronghold of (nu skool) breakbeat. As far as I know breakbeat reached proportions much similar to gabber in Holland. Drugged out chavs, mega-raves, etc.

Hey!

I don't think you'll find any dubstep in Madrid, if you're lucky you can hear a couple of tunes in a rave, that's all I'm afraid... :?

But if you move to the north you've got a weekly night in Barcelona @ Club Zentraus (rambla de raval 41), I think it's on wednesday or thursday, not sure about it. Ask numaestro about it, he runs it, I think. And also in the north you've got a monthly night here at A Corunha (2nd Friday of every month) @ Club Telefunken (Alcalde Folla Yordi 8 ) ran by me and my mate Dj Sith.

Also, there's a guy in Zaragoza who makes breakcore parties from time to time, and sometimes a dubstep headz is added to the lineup, he brought Vex'D, Kode9 and MRK1 this year (info here)

I think that's all in Spain, this is a techno country, if you wanna hear Villalobos or Hawtin you'll probably catch them twice a week, but people here isn't still open minded enough for dubstep :x

I lived in Barcelona last year...and visited Madrid a couple of times while I was there- there IS a decent jungle/hiphop/underground scene there...but as someone said above- it's mixed in with the techno scene.

The best way (I've found) to find these types of parties is to hit up an urban clothing/record store- they've always got loads of flyers for different parties...g'luck.

True. At the time I went regularly to the Mercado de Fuencarral just to grab the new flyers. You'll find loads of them. Most get you in for free till a certain hour. Some can be used all night.

Check Ravalbass@ club zentraus, Rambla de raval 41, every wednesday. 11.30-2.30 free entry. visit www.zentruas,com for schedule. Howie roach (numaestro) spins once a month - dubstep has been dropping for 2 and a half years here! Expect a wide range of bass driven uindrground sounds.
