[MCR] JOKER & PEVERELIST BASS EXORCISM 31/10
A FAKTION HALLOWEEN BASS EXORCISM
JOKER [TERRORRHYTHM/KAPSIZE] - DJ
PEVERELIST [PUNCH DRUNK/SKULL DISCO] - DJ
SAMRAI [SWINGTING] - DJ
THE AEROBIQ MYSTIQ [FAKTION] - DJ
SAKI BAR, WILMSLOW RD,
RUSHOLME
£7
We're returning to our favourite Shisha bar-cum-club, Saki Bar for a one-off halloween night of grime terror and dubstep mutations from Bristol's finest, a.k.a Joker & Peverelist.
Joker has steadily become a name to watch over the last two years with a sparse but incredible output for the likes of Plasticman's Terrorhythm records and his own Kapsize outlet. His synthline laden brand of G-funked grime and dubstep hybrids have drawn comparisons to everyone from Kode9 to The Neptunes but it's tracks 'Snake Eater' that have set this young'un waaay out alongside the new generation of beat technicians like Rustie or Zomby. If you need further proof, check his set for Mary-Anne Hobbs' Generation Bass show and get wowed.
Peverelist is a firm favourite of the Faktion crew. Besides his very healthy involvement with the Bristol scene, from nurturing talent like Joker to running the city's finest record shop, Rooted, Peverelist has come to define the whole dubstepXtechno mutation that makes us buzz so much. His style combines a respectful love of Berlin-style dub techno from the likes of Basic Channel or T++, with the guttural bass reverberations of Bristol's soundsystem heritage and a distinctly UK Garage flavour for a unique and absolutely wicked sound.
After hearing Mr Samrai's slinky 2-step and garage mixes we couldn't really ask anyone else to warm up for these fellas, so expect a blend of the freshest LDN Funky styles and lady lovin' riddims freshly imported from the big smirk from the man Samrai. Faktion resident the Aerobiq Mystiq will provide the neccessary bass exorcisms when the others aren't playing.
and finally, yes, Fancy Dress is optional, we know a few of you can't wait to get into character so feel free to crack out your plastic teef and white sheets.

good stuff Kenneth Evil! Joker and Peverelist will be on from around 1:30ish so hopefully you can make it...
Mr Datura, we're expecting your presence too. Did you enjoy T++++++/HATE? I did! The one in the gas mask on the left was actually Todd Edwards, but i didn't tell you that, right?!
everyone else, you're more than welcome too, it's a party innit?

Upstairs?!
Calling all heavy lifting crew, onetime! At least we can push the volume up there, even if the load out is hell. Will get on the case and borrow some deck isolators again.
Bizzy B the next day too, same venue, and I believe there's something a little less legal planned for the Saturday night as well...
