i think it's a total non issue...this is politics though. if the shoe had been on the other foot, so to speak, i'm pretty sure exactly the same fuss would have been made.

I agree that it was certainly an attempt, but I donno if the aunt thing was that great of an outing... I mean, how many of us really know our aunts that well anyways? And even if we do, do we have control over who they are? I mean, to me that was more of a statement that McCain's party isn't "in tune" with real people... he is in tune with rich people with families held together versus the majority of people who don't really have that close of a family where we'd know all about our aunt.

Exactly. Or even not just immigrants, but people with broken homes in general. I think in America it's over 50% of marriages end in divorce. Probably a lot of kids tossed around in that type of thing, I know I was one of them and there are a bunch more like me.

oh mccain's family history (or at least his marital history) is anything but storybook. he cheated on his first wife and the left her for another woman (cindy) and that other woman has been a pillpopping addict.

but at this point, they are grasping at straws in the worst, most illogical way, and not only pandering to the most ignorant strain of americans, but actually COUNTING on them to be ignorant.
