Dentists

Post by elbe » Thu Jul 03, 2008 9:57 am

Why the fuck do dentists cost so fucking much. The stnuc. I got to go back and get this temp filling changed.

Not only does this tnuc charge a fortune, there are no NHS dentists available, he is also a fat fuck. Last time I went I spent half the time with my face pressed against his fucking man breast, comfortable but horrifying.

Put tin foil on your filling. Just a little peice. Helps the healing process with the silver from the foil.

I left my normal dentist (cos he was a sadistic bastard), went to next dentist but havn't been back there for a couple years. Went back to original sadist who said he would take me on as NHS but once he inspected my choppers and discovered I needed 4 fillings (2 of them being white), he said he wasn't prepared to take me on NHS so it's gonna cost me the thick end of 3 bills. tnuc.

i cant stand it when you go in for a service, like a haircut or the dentist, and they're jabbering on and on about shit throughout. especially the dentist coz you can't asnwer back or tell her to shut the fuck up. if i wanted a chat i'd have gone to a shrink.

i had a mate go to a dentist recently and the guy somehow managed to compare her tooth decay to the current socio-political situation in palestine

It takes an odd mentality to become a dentist, 5 years of training to do repeated root canals and fillings, i can imagine the conversation is their only way of staying sane.

I lived with dental students last year, mostly they chose it because they liked the idea of medicine but either couldn't deal with the concept of patients dying or wanted more money.

Wimps IMO

Bumping this as went to the dentist yesterday and they gave me an estimate of the costs of all the work I need doing.
£1100.
Fuck off.
That's to get a crown on a tooth that has a filling in it already, plus get the wisdom teeth out. I can get them done on the NHS so I won't have to spend money on that, but it's going to be £550 for the crown. One tooth!
If i didn't have a dental plan through work, i'd be fucked.
Tis ridiculous.

yeah, my work dental works about the same (for a root canal and crown)
My work dental plan only pays out up-to £250 per claim tho, so I am trying to get my dentists to seperate the two treatments so I can make two claims, still gonna cost me £500 quid or so tho :x

I have a couple of friends who are dental students, and when you talk to them about why they are doing dentistry it's all about the money, never the job, which is a bit sad.

Dentists in the US seem so much more drug oriented than here, my aunt's boyfriend has stashes of vicodin all over his house from his dentist, and yet my mum has to have a bit of her hip put in her jaw to stop it falling out her head and all she gets is a load of diclofenac (which has no opioids in it at all)

If you have a sadistic dentist, bite the fucker, worked for me

How much for a core build up, crown preparation and impressions and a porcelain bonded crown then?
