i'm about 3 hrs north of you in Charlotte, NC right now - if you like live jazz or any sort of live jam band music you'll LOVE miami - they've got tons of that going on - no dubstep that i've heard of though.

don't pass through ATL that much but be sure to go to Buckhead if you want some drinks n shite - check out 404audio.com if you want more info - dnb board but they're friendly n i'm sure would answer questions about dubstep or what to do

not so sure about much else I'm afraid!

oh - and get some bojangles, iced tea, butter biscuits, fried chicken and fries  - srsly. best drunk fast food ever (with cookout coming into a close 2nd)

you honestly honestly haven't REALLY had fried chicken until you've had it in the american south. (nc does count as south right katie? just not 'deep' south? god i'm such a tourist.) i mean i love morley's chicken in tooting as much as the next guy, but it's just not the same...

the hell are bojangles though? :?

lol you're right on all counts!

1) southern fried chicken is the BOMB shizzle, hands down beats any other fried chicken
2) NC style EASTERN BBQ is the best BBQ ever - vinegar-based sauce or STFU (and i'm leaning how to make it, soon coming to an english oven near.. well - me! - ROCK!)
3) NC is NOT "deep" south. w'ere just southern - and we don't count VA as southern (state right above us) so technically we're northern southern.

srsly, the hting i missedm ost when i lived in the UK was the nc food. NC BBQ, kraft mac n cheese, GOOD american lemonade, hush puppies (food not the shoes) bojo's (bojangles), cook out (best milkshakes EVAR!), i'm getting hungry just listing it all off.

and i'm not even natively from the south - just grew up here!

srsly tho - GET YOU SOME BOJANGLES! the bo'berry biscuit is great for breakfast, butter biscuit + 4 pc chicken + fries + mashed potatoes are quality for lunch - be sure to get some iced tea and put seasoning on your fries tho - makes it!!!!

katie, you are talking my language! i want bojo's bad now. and eastern bbq sounds heavy!

is it just me who'd be up for a new sub-section of the offtopic forum (where this thread blates should be residing haha) about culinary matters alone?

if i wasn't trying to be healthy i'd get some bojo's myself - erm :|

i'd settle for a "fav recipe" thread in offtopic, though be warned - i seem to eat some weird shit compared to most of my friends.. tho I consider my tastes fairly normal :?:

and yes, eastern nc style BBQ is THE shit. no comparing. pulled pork in a vinegar sauce  it's like.. it's just great
