Rod Azlan ftw, such a beautiful and sensitive feel for the vibe at the time - whether it's getting everyone jumping or rolling with the flow. A "host" really more than what people classically think of as an MC i guess. Things evolve tho ;)

i dont like these "best" things cos everyone brings something different, and it depends on my taste, but if i gotta pick - he's a winner for me

what no votes for buffalo badmon?! hehe

not much of a fan of mc's, sgt pokes does the job pretty well. 99pct of the time, i think they are out of context with the music, the vibe and the feeling about dubstep. let this, forever, be a grime thing.

Juakali -- pure vibes and lyrics for DAYS, none of this spit-16s-over-and-over-again. Internatty!

Pokes taps into the energy of a song and comes at you in a classic-and-hilarious kind of way. such great summations of the vibe of a dance... simple 'tings occur.

and, close behind in a dark-horse-running-kind of way, the man like Black Plague. watch me dance!!!

thats what led to the evolution of jump up/clownstep d&b IMO, almost mimicking hiphop.. just neverending loops created for

Pokes & Crazy D are great hosts but MCs? Depends on the definition, Mic Controller - no, Master of Ceremonies - Yes. Also there's a big difference between spitting in the studio, on the radio and in the club.

Beezy has been working with DubStep producers for a while and I have to say:

"his-slow-flow-'s re-mark-ab-le" (RIP Biggie)...

Durrty Goodz, Trim - again quality MC's that have been working closely with DubStep producers for more than a minute.

Go to any decent night and if the promoter is worth their salt they'll put together a proper show with plenty of hosts keeping the vibe going. MC DRS up in Manchester and the Broken English boys can respectfully toast over DubStep without drowning it out. The Virus Syndicate produce tracks that aren't grime or DubStep but fit (and redefine) both those genres.

Don't get me wrong, I love my deeper dubby-techno sets with absolutely no vocals but if you're in a club and you want to stay awake and on point you need someone who is able to look at the crowd and work out what they want, and not just go off on some preconceived lyrical rant with no regard for the feeling of the audience.

I guess it's all good as long as you don't sound s**t...

As far as live dubstep is concerned MCing should be kept to a minimum and spot on as Pokes never fails to do, especially at Plastic or DMZ where the sound is so intense.

I really fcking hate to jerked out of my semi transe by a fcking BOW WOW WOW! EAZY! or have an excellent tune covered by uninspired waffle.

True dat - That vocal over the slowed down version of "Pass the Red Stripe" is quality. Out to all the US MC's on a different flex...

Its got to be Crazy D. Im sort of biased cos I first got into dubstep @ FWD but for me he's by far the best. Woah woah!
