Jungle would have been pretty boring without Wu Tang's 36 Chambers samples
It would seem that it wasn't just Jungle that drew upon US Hip Hop influences, certain promoters also relied on 36 Chambers quotes to spice up their forum posts:
Selective quotation really is the height of bad manners, no? Okay, my comment on Jungle was a bit of a generalisation but that's my opinion and last time I checked I was entitled to have my opinion. If you disagree then provide a valid argument instead of just clubbing me down with blunt insults.BodyNod. wrote:
After a little break BodyNod has gone away and reformed like Voltron to bring you a line up we think will get any self respecting Grime, Garage or Dubstep head kinda hype.
I can't hate on you BodyNod, you put together some sick lineups and you're doing a lot more for the scene than many other promoters who are killing this sound by treating Dubstep as just another musical cash-cow, so respect for that, just ease off on the snipes Sir. I'm on your side, still.

What my initial post took particular offence to (as may be clear now) is anyone thinking Americas influence on Grime was anywhere close to the UK garage scenes in the early years, unfortunately the same can not be said of the more recent years.
Anyways - not on some internet argument (especially not when its this old!) but I suggest you look into the history of Grime before making sweeping statements is all im saying. Cheers for the kind words about what we do at BodyNod, its appreciated.
It's a learning process for everyone, that's the fun part right? Anyway, just so long as we understand each other. I always thought I'd be able to get through this life avoiding an argument with somebody about music genres, and 'till this I was doing OK. I'm glad we could resolve this in so few posts, even if it did take several months.so as a hip hop head from way back me using a phrase is similar in someway to you saying "America is kinda responsible for creating Grime" OK.
and actually LOL @ you trying to boi me up by explaining to me the differences between "Chattin" and typing.

I did not mean to offend your sensibilities and I sincerely wish you the all best with your music endeavours in the future.

this is probably the most important 'dub' that i've copped from this forum for a number of reasons:
1) you better hope that you never get famous proper d, because i'll have this shit locked up ready for an E! true hollywood story or VH1 special on the american 'telly' without proper $$$$ payment from you/your management for handing over the last digital copy in existence. i've got a few of these types of things locked up as 'investments'
2) i still can't decide if this is serious or not- it was that intense
3) it was just good. i hear tracks form all sorts of people, none stand out like this. huge impact... makin waves.
4)
DID ANYONE ELSE HEAR THAT????????
last thing- what happened to that freestyle file- why is that one offline now? i need it!

Oh shit, I didn't mean to drag up all this again. I see now the folly of war and again hear the screams of people getting injured from unexploded landmines years later...
Esh, I think I still have that freestyle response somewhere- PM me on that if you really need to hear it. Cyanide pills at the ready tho' Sir, I must warn you.
