hello all
i've just posted a new track up on my myspace player (well, two actually) at
www.myspace.com/djid
the track in question is 'Late Night Hype'. As you can hear, it's basically dubstep, but with quite a hyped up, breaky feel (there's an actual breaks track after it in the clip).
i'm interested in what people on here think about sounds like this? it seems like there's more of a breaks influence in dubstep lately, what with the likes of Reso etc (and there's certainly a dubstep influence in breaks these days) - so would you lot be into stuff like this?
cheers...

no 320's in general i'm afraid, as they're all signed... Flay and Akusative are coming out on Cool & Deadly next month, and Late Night Hype and To The Line are coming out on 777 (the breaks label) in early 2009.
However, since you 4 were all so polite, you can have 320's anyway (so long as you go and spread the word!

)
I'll PM you (tomorrow, as i've got to go out now and meet the missus)
cheers

i really would like to hear more stuff like this, i love dubstep but get tired of so many laid back beats, i really like stuff with more energetic breaks, if you could recommend some breaks tunes in the style that these experiments were modeled after, i would love to have a hand at making some myself

Wicked style. Energetic Percussion with booming basslines and melodic samples. Couldn't have asked for anything better. I love the breaks influence in your tracks. I know it's asking a lot, but is there any chance of a 320 of Late Night Hype?

great stuff ... been feeling akusative since I heard it on getdarker.com. flay and LateNightHype are dope too. as a DJ who just recently switched from playing breaks to dubstep I really feel where you're going with these .. danceable, dark, energetic, and groovy but not a hint of cheese anywhere. big ups.
can I have 320s if I promise to buy the vinyls?

cheers.

out to the PM crew! each and every!
seriously, i'm very flattered that everyone's into the tunes so much.
but unfortunately I can't give many copies out because they're signed and the labels would kick my arse.... so i'm gonna have to stick to the original 4 i'm afraid. sorry! maybe next time!

Faaaarking hell! Yes ID
Long time fan, but have been neglecting the world of breaks more and more. Might have to give myself a little catch up! Serious tunes these, absoloutely not messing around at the bottom end. Hard to draw much of a line between dubstep and breaks at this end of the spectrum really. Fuck it to be honest though, at the end of the day its all wicked!
Really looking forward to the cool & deadly release. Aksuative is an absoloute monster. Tayo really can do no wrong at the moment in my eyes!
Big up!

i like your drum work a lot!
And keep doing the "once again"- alike tunes. Jammin/Darqwan influenced tunes are always welcome. Always.

thanks all, appreciate the support!
yeah breaks has been in a bit of a doldrum lately, but good things are coming back! for those interested, check out tracks like Afghan Headspin's 'Bang Spanner' or Bassbin Twins 'Woppa' (insanely massive tune) or 'Pigpen'...there's a few people trying to bridge the gap a bit now, bring some of those breakstep vibes back.....

Flay and Akusative are the next release on Cool & Deadly, should be out on December 8th I hope... Late Night Hype will be out on 777 Records (which is a breaks label) in Jan/Feb
