[POLL] Favourite DAW/Sequencer Software!

Post by ecliptic » Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:35 pm

What is your favorite DAW/Sequencer?

This was an interesting poll on the Lifted Music production forum ( http://www.liftedmusic.co.uk/forum/view ... light=poll ), and wanted to hear what all us dubsteppers prefer? if any different...

Its a broad question, but I'm really interested in hearing the results.

FL all the way

Tried getting my head round Cubase, found it didn't suit my way of working, so forked out for the full version of FL8 with all the bells and whistles 8)

Logic, purely because it's the only one I've ever really used. Started out with it and stuck with it.

logic, used to use reason, i loved it, but when i changed to logic this year it completely took over. it just feels like logic is the program most suited to my needs, i feel so comfortable on it

voted - Logic...

just to add...i've tried a small range of DAW's (pro-tools, Cubase, Renoise, reason, ableton, FL etc)...of all of them, i thouht cubase was the worst to use...some people love it, i couldn't understand why steinberg seemed to make such a pigs ear of very basic functions...felt like things could have been better laid out...for workflow purposes, this was a few years ago though (experienced users will obviously say otherwise...just my 2 cents)

I voted Logic. I have used Reason 2.5, old versions of Acid & FL back in the day, and Live 4. I LOVE Logic Pro 8.

I'm sure that the other app's are good, I just haven't used any recent versions, so I have no concept of how good they work now. I used to like FL because it was super easy to sequence & such, wouldn't mind trying it again but money won't allow it any time soon.

<3 Cubase. Personally I wish you could have Reason stuff IN cubase without rewiring .. Also FL is great for getting ideas done quickly... I kinda use the 3 for different types of tunes, I find its easier to do some stuff in each of them and stuff...

But Cubase4 is slowly winning my heart. its amazing.

They should have put VST capability into Reason a long time ago.

I'm going with the current majority, Ableton. I couldn't imagine using anything else right now.
