Plus,he was really one of the first to bring the reggae toasting flow back to hiphop, since hiphop was invented by a reggae dj in the first place. After him came the likes of Phife(ATQC),Fu Shnickens,Snow(don't hate - "12 Inches Of Snow" was a dope reggae album, even a lot of my yardie mates loved it),Das FX,Buster Rhymes(in LONS,not so much after he became "Busta"),etc. rapping in patois.BDP and his solo stuff will be there long after Nas.believe that!sarnian wrote:Krs is responsible for so much good hip-hop. did people actually read the original post? How anyone can say Cage (and quite a few others) is pretty incredible as he is the anithesis of the the type of artists the guy wants to be recommended.ericssoftbrain wrote:Can anyone recommend me any good conscious hip hop artists with decent intelligent lyrics. Would be much appreciated. No gangsta shit please.

you might enjoy our album, (Double Helix 'Future Proof'). You can get a free promo mix from http://www.audiodacity.co.uk, or can buy the album from various record shops and sites, including direct from http://www.nu-urbanmusic.co.uk/shop/pro ... _id=11393.ericssoftbrain wrote:Can anyone recommend me any good conscious hip hop artists with decent intelligent lyrics. After 2Pac and Biggie, feuds became mainstream, due to the fact that (as Pac and Biggie proved) that record sales increase over the excitement of the feud. Therefore,it became the sellout thing to do.That anddatura wrote:Fueds don't make sell outs, but making albums like the Firm do.Diss04 wrote:

its not strictly straight up hiphop, but has healthy bass and loads of interesting+often abstract lyrics, (our mc reads a lot of New Scientist etc, is fascinated with human evolution, the future and science fiction... and has a heart), the music fuses dubstep with numerous electronic influences... We've been lucky enough to have had airplay from MAH+others on Radio 1 in the past.
note:we are the Double Helix from Edinburgh, not the Double Helix from London LHF crew that you may be aware of, just to avoid any confusion:)
lol yeah the firm was a shitty album, i'll admitdatura wrote:stillmatic a great album?? lol, ok. It had maybe 2/3 good tracks.Diss04 wrote:he made one great album (stillmatic) and one amazing albumdatura wrote:And Nas has only made one great album..

Fueds don't make sell outs, but making albums like the Firm do.
