I would think that very loud music would be harmful as the babies hearing is still developing and is more easily damaged. However, playing music at a normal level is supposed to be good for the baby.

When a woman is pregnant, the fetus can only really hear the mothers heartbeat and her blood flowing around, so low end vibrations would mimic that feeling and sound in nature. Seen a few pregnant women at the dance.

Yea, but we're talking about bass, not audible noise. The baby would feel low frequency vibrations, such as the flow of blood. The percussion would resemble the beating of a heart. It would be erratic though for a heartbeat. None the less, I linked to a study that says Bass actually causes deeper sleep and ease within a baby, actually opening the baby's third eye, so to speak. Squeegy that eye with some Loefah - Goat Stare, IMO.

listening to music is one thing but dancing in front of a loud system with heavy subs ...eek.. i'd imagine there is no definite answer to whether this is safe or not, which means that you don't definitely know it won't do harm...really worth the risk for the sake of not going out for a few months?
my other worry is more that someone might bash into you in the dance..preggy bellys are very delicate!
