D-CODE of THE OTHERS (UK) (Dub Police/Tempa./Boka/Verilo)

D-Code and DeXterous, hailing from North West and West London respectively, met at the world famous Vestax DJ Academy at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, where they instantly clicked due to their musical tastes. D-Code came from a Dark Garage, Jungle and Drum & Bass background whilst DeXterous followed Dubstep from its roots of UK Garage.
After getting in the studio to produce their first track together (Killer Bees, October 2005), it was later picked up by DJ Wonder who gave it huge support on London’s leading pirate radio station Rinse FM and at events such as the legendary FWD. After the success of their first track they decided to pursue their productions together and made some more material, which started to attract notice from some of the scenes most respected artists as they started to shape and mould their own unique sound.
In July 2006 The Others were approached by Boka Records and were signed up for their first release: ‘Hear Dis Style’ and ‘Underworld’ – which received glowing reviews in various publications with DJ mag calling The Others “Burgeoning beat masters for sure, raw!” After more work in the studio with tracks championed by the likes of N-Type, Caspa, Joe Nice (USA) and Rusko, on radio stations such as Kiss 100, BBC 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Sub FM and at events such as FWD in Shorditch, Sub Dub in Leeds and the mighty DMZ in Brixton. They were then signed up to Dub Police with a 3 track EP: Africa, Flapjack Dub & Bushido – released in March 2007, which was highly successful and extended their fan base. After hearing Caspa playing ‘Freakshow’ at FWD, Youngsta then contacted The Others to sign it to the legendary Tempa, sharing wax with the likes of Benga, Rusko & Martyn to make up Vol.4 of the Tempa Allstars series.Fast forward to 2008 with a string of successful releases (including fan favourite ‘Funhouse’ on Dub Police) and appearances on popular mix compilations ‘Dubstep Allstars Vol.5’ mixed by N-type and ‘Fabric Live 37” mixed by Caspa & Rusko also forthcoming releases on Dub Police, Boka, Veri Lo and other highly respected dubstep labels, aswell as appearances at events across the globe and guest appreances on BBC Radio 1 – The Others show no signs of slowing down!
