skream- gallasia [30 minute track for Nike]
surely it depends how much money actually goes to nike and how much of it goes to skream.
and.... how much of it goes to the small peasant worker children of croydon skream employed to run on tredmills and fetch him tea and digestives in order to give the track extra sole.

tune sounds pretty uninspired, imho... quite "cold" electronic production. of course you might say, that's taste but to me it sounds like a quick production on the computer with state-of-the-art software, tweek some presets sounds, put in a very un-rythmic tempo-change in the song and off you go... well, but that's just my opinion and i'll probably get lynched in this forum for critizing one of skream's tune (just kiddin), but he definitely has spoiled us with way way better and more inpsiring tunes than this. plus the price is unreasonable. it's not like he wrote a 30 min symphony which is real thought-out and totally fresh. sorry to say, but this seems more like generic music-software production... but i guess he can't always please everyone, obviously. this haven been said, big up skream for the incredible large amount of good music he's put out (and especially the stuff that hasn't or will never be put out!).
thing is u gotta put into context wot its for....dubwise_gamgee wrote:tune sounds pretty uninspired, imho... quite "cold" electronic production. of course you might say, that's taste but to me it sounds like a quick production on the computer with state-of-the-art software, tweek some presets sounds, put in a very un-rythmic tempo-change in the song and off you go... well, but that's just my opinion and i'll probably get lynched in this forum for critizing one of skream's tune (just kiddin), but he definitely has spoiled us with way way better and more inpsiring tunes than this. plus the price is unreasonable. it's not like he wrote a 30 min symphony which is real thought-out and totally fresh. sorry to say, but this seems more like generic music-software production... but i guess he can't always please everyone, obviously. this haven been said, big up skream for the incredible large amount of good music he's put out (and especially the stuff that hasn't or will never be put out!).
its a complement to nike running...
so wat comes into my mind first, is these athletes playin this in the background on sum headphones or sumin while they train.
so ye its just backing music, nuffin to complex in the track, just enough to keep the person going.
aes killed it.Antloss wrote:yeh itunes and nike do loads of co-labs. Aesop Rock did a similar ting not so long ago...
it was definitely dope but it was also free from what i remember.
not down for paying for a 30 minute tune, regardless of how good it is.

are u allowed to listen to it if u are wearing adidas?
i aint even heard it so ill wait till i have to pass judgement...alot of people seem to lap up any tune that certain artists put out even when they r substandard..but thats another topic for another day.

but ye i aint herd it personally...
what i was gettin at was that i sort of expect this to be a bit below par and less of deeply produced track anyways, cos its nt like an individual track thats a proper piece of work that would be used in mixes and put out etc...
its a 30 minute track for nike. im not sayin that means it shudnt be produced well but i wouldnt expect it to be sumin really unique, hype or innovative.
cant pass judgement till ive herd it tho still.

I completeley hear what your saying here.....dubwise_gamgee wrote:tune sounds pretty uninspired, imho... quite "cold" electronic production. of course you might say, that's taste but to me it sounds like a quick production on the computer with state-of-the-art software, tweek some presets sounds, put in a very un-rythmic tempo-change in the song and off you go... well, but that's just my opinion and i'll probably get lynched in this forum for critizing one of skream's tune (just kiddin), but he definitely has spoiled us with way way better and more inpsiring tunes than this. plus the price is unreasonable. it's not like he wrote a 30 min symphony which is real thought-out and totally fresh. sorry to say, but this seems more like generic music-software production... but i guess he can't always please everyone, obviously. this haven been said, big up skream for the incredible large amount of good music he's put out (and especially the stuff that hasn't or will never be put out!).
But this had to be the hardest/ most stressfull task ive ever done...
Its not like u can listen to it like a normal tune, you have to constantly continue listenin to it which can make u sick of the track...
Think listening to it through twice is an hour....
I am happy with the track but..... do admit its not the best peice of music ive made....
Thats my 2 pence

^^ wow ..
Would love to hear it. But for me, it's also to expensive for just 'one' track.
BUT .. considering that the target audience consists of people wearing nike shoes ($$) listening to the song on their Apple iPod ($$), it's a steal!
Besides that, i think it's an interesting concept and should be approached differently than other productions. What he did if you read the post before this. Congrats!
