FM8

Post by davebell » Fri Nov 28, 2008 8:44 pm

Does anyone here really understand FM8 or know any good tutorials on the web, the only ones I can find are abouit chainging presets, I wan't to understand what I am actually doing, and I looked at the fm synthesis tut on SOS but can't quite get my head round it. I need something that describes it in detail but in an easy to understand way.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

I'm fine with synthesis and modulation matrixes, and even then, FM8 confuses me. Maybe if i got used to the workflow i'd use it more but I can't see myself switching to using it more than massive/absynth/reaktor.

FM8 is ALL i use, rest is samples.. its a AMAZING synth, heres a video on basic FM synthesis

http://insidesynthesis.blogspot.com/200 ... art-1.html

Watch that, and then just fill in the blanks on FM8! The Matrix planel is amazing on it you get some really interesting sounds also I love the cabs on it, they're not that authentic but they give out some RAW sounds for your bass. check out "Venus Fly Trap" on the Myspace, I made the bass on that, on FM8
