personally if it's an option i would buy decks from someone local so that you can see for yourself that the tonearm isnt bent, the ground cable is there, etc. maybe i'm just paranoid though. if local isn't an option then make sure you inspect the pics..

the prices are reasonable. gotta echo the statements here to get technics, if only because they're everywhere so you will be used to the tables no matter where you mix.

as far as the bundle with the mixer it seems like a good deal but i've never heard of "american pro" mixers.. you might scope out some reviews of them. i have a stanton 3-channel smx-501 and love it

What a price difference with just a distance of a couple of miles.

I bought 2 technics sl-1210 with 2 ortofon & 2 stanton needles for 550£ and that is one of the cheapest deals you will find in belgium

I think the most replies here persuaded you to go vinyl, which has it's charms ofcourse just take a good look at your financial status.

Think i invested around the 2100£ (2500€) on gear and vinyl in a year and a half, maybe 2.

if money is your main issue then i would say get cdjs as you wont have to spend loads on buying records and also you will be able to play your own tunes without getting them pressed but remember not a lot of venues will have cdjs thats why i bought decks

i don't understand how people say mp3/cdj's are cheaper if your starting out?

when i started i bought some second hand pdx2000's and a djx700 mixer for 225quid. add the 350 quid ish i might have spend on vinyl since august and round it up to 600quid.

i know someone else thats started and went down the cdj route, they bought a cdj1000 and cdj800 off ebay and the same mixer as me, must have come to at leeast a grand for that lot...

It depends...Do you have enough money to buy a set and then spend more moeny for new records, if you do I would recomend vinyl but the cheaper way to get music is cds and mp3 but then you have a more limited selection.

Have you thought about Serato?

simple tbh you don't really need a high end cdj starting out or for home use, unless you really "need" all the bells and whistles features.
hell my gemini cdj gets the job done fine and is great for just mixing. plus cd-rs and mp3s/flac/wav files are alot cheaper then vinyl

or you could get a couple psps and mod em and some mem sticks and toss ruckus on em

Just buy what you like, there are no restrictions in what you like or not or in what you want to spin or not. That is the part of being a dj, giving your own taste of music without being influenced by media or hypes.

And just to say with 20dubstep titles you get extremely bored after a while.

I dont know how many times Ive had a conversation with some vinyl purist who was like "Yeah man, but vinyl just sounds better (which it does... not my argument here)... but I dunno, if I had the money Id probably get Serato..."

Digital downloads are also the way to go, especially when starting out. The equvilant of that list of tunes you posted would be around $25-30 US if downloaded, compared to the $150 or so the vinyl would cost, and you dont have to buy the dnb tunes on the flip of some of those if you dont want.

Also, the digital selection is not less... just different. Just as there are vinyl only tunes, there are digital only tunes. There is also a whole forum section worth of freebies to get you going right out the box.

Oh, and stay the hell away from AMERICAN PRO or AMERICAN AUDIO products... they are made of fail.

Seconded on both counts, there are plenty of tracks not pressed to vinyl that can be pretty bangin'.
