Reggae & Dub Reccomendations
Reggae & Dub Reccomendations
Ive been listening to nothing but Dub & Reggae recently (& dubstep of course), but could do with being pointed in the direction of more artists....
Ive always liked King Tubby, and im onto The Upsetters, The Skatalites, Lee Perry, Frankie Paul, Tony Scott, Peter Tosh, General Echo, and the more dancehall charecters like Barrington Levy, Eek A Mouse, Cutty Ranks etc....but just wondering if theres anyone else people on here can reccomend me to listen to.....cheers

Vybz Kartel (imo, STILL the baddest soundcrew out there)
Sanchez (has some classic rockers)
Tony Matterhorn
QQ
- Infamous Sound Crew- they're mixedcd 'Dutty Wine' is badness with the Smash Riddim and 85 Riddim
MVP Soundcrew

The longer I've been listening the more rootsical I have become. I recommend going along to a Jah Shaka dance to really soak up the vibes but I cant see what country you are posting from...

Er, yes!! I saw him last week at The Coronet in Elephant & Castle. Lots of rumours about Shaka many of which are unfounded. Always has been always will be. There is a good interview with Nicky Ezer of Culture Promotions that you should read here:electric eliminator wrote:is shaka still on the go?

Also Shaka's son Malachi is now on top form, he was chanting on the mic at Shaks last gig and he is playing at The Telegraph next Friday. There is a fluer for that gig on the Shaka website, see my sig block for a link,
