Recommend me some monitors

Post by promo » Tue Dec 09, 2008 10:10 pm

Hi guys. I have a cheapo Behringer Eurolive B212A monitor (400w of power) but its too huge for studio. Need some monitors that are gonna have good sub and the rest of it. Looking at a budget of around £100-150. Any thoughts? Tempted to get another Eurolive though to sync up with my existing one - that way I can use them for small house parties/get togethers as well as generally studio activity.

This is what I have

or should I just sell my Behringer?

get some headphones mate, you already have something to blast it on, if you get headphones for 100 quid you'll get much better mixes than if you spend that kind of cash on monitors....

i use akgk240S and managed to get them from the us for 50 quid, but that was before the pound went down the shitter...

Yeah, correct my Behringer is pa speaker. It was used for a few parties I ran but I ain't running parties at the mo so not really using it. Don't like selling shit but then I'm not sure if I have much use for it at the mo.

Interesting. I use to use headphones for monitoring but it was just killing my ears too much plus I felt I was getting totally the wrong impression through them. Plus there is always the danger of basically do some damage when listening to different audio at variable levels. In the past I've been taken off guard a few times which nearly killed my ears!!!I got some Sony MDR-V300 headphones though which now I recall I originally bought them for monitoring.

EDIT: Just put these on for the first time in ages and sound is just horrid. Bass it too much.

Alesis 520's

Just got a pair myself, loud enough to piss of people in other rooms but the sound quality is amazing for the price range - really pleased with them.
