Some of it is alright, but I am positive that this is the new scene of choice for the type of trendsters who stumbled into FWD>> on Ketamine last year on a Friday and started all of these 'Are Caspa and Rusko killing dubstep?' type threads. The fact that people think it's somehow mad cool to refer to Flying Lotus and Hudson Mohawke as Flylo and Hudmo make me laugh..
I really don't think the ketaming crew have latched on to this at all, i think it would spin peoples heads too much.
Given this thread was started by dubway and having a look at people who in the past have show an appreciation - i doubt most of the people who like this sound are of the mindset that the sub soldiers / dubpolice crew are straight killing dubstep off, or are people that have just jump on trendy bandwagons.
i dont think the abbreviatons are said to make people look cool - more that they are just quick to say and are phenetically simple (
having said that they are pretty cool sounding)

It's dance music in a sense, but personally I can't feel it. It's too unpredictable to go into that kinda raving autopilot. I'll be listening, but this stuff seems like it's trying a little too hard to be out there.
.
What about those people who don't like to dance to predicable rhythms all the time?
I don't think this stuff is trying hard to be out there - i think of recent times dance orientated music has been trying to play it safe, inorder to clamour for commercial success.
It is all about what is says on the section divider for Wonky in Rooted records, too funny.
