Does anyone think that nearly every track in the dubs forum sounds the same? That annoying synth everyone seems to have is starting to piss me off. That dist high pitch wobbler thing? Man it sucks!

Must be at least 90% of new releases are shit. I can't even shop for dubstep vinyl anymore. Pick up 20 tracks to listen to and might actually buy 1 or 2 if any.

The music has already completely changed from when I started mixing it in 2005. Used to be that every track actually made you feel something. A proper mood to it. Now it's all generic shit.

I do have to agree on your statement in regards to "new labels". Sure dubstep is not the way it was in 2005.. After all look at the various other genre's that have influenced dubstep in the beginning.. Those genre's are not dead..... yet they continue to play an influence with what is being produced today. Accept it or Reject it.. I find it more entertaining trying to find "that track" that adds a special touch to a collection. Something that is fresh and original.

As per the "big scene divide".... I believe it already happened at least a year ago. Maybe even longer.. There are those who understand the roots and do it for the music, and there are those who immitate the "founding fathers" only to get there 15 minutes of fame or to try and make a quick dollar.

rule number one in any musical style - celebrate the good stuff and ignore the crap. there's always crap about. why not post about the 2 artists you liked this year, rather than diss everybody.

If it's your scene and you don't like it, it's your fault, do something about it. Always thrilling cracks in the pavements bruv.. all the way from Coki plates to the newest dons, I'm still hearing tunes that thrill me like "High Plains Drifter" or "Goat Stare" did..

The truth there is a lot of sub standard music being released but on the flip side many new producers are making names for themselves producing quality music that is fresh and exciting.

If I am honest I too love the dubstep that was made in 05/06 but things move on and progress. That music will always be there.
