Chef/Pinch/Appleblim/Wedge @ Dubloaded-Bristol-10th Dec
Last night was large some sick mixing and heavy weight tunes from chef. The place was such a road block that i had to wait outside for a while for someone to leave until i could be admitted. The old skool jungle at the end was quality too, Loefah and Peveralist killed it, it took me back to the days of listening to it as youth, when i was sadly far too young to go raving. A big thanks to everyone involved that was immense.

Top night. unfortunately I missed Chef due to dj-ing in the bar at the same time, but Appleblim & Wedge were spinning some heavy riddims and the old school jungle tearout at the end was off the hook! Havn't seen people going crazy like that for a long time. Peveralist has some of the best jungle I've ever heard. Period
Best dubstep set i've heard out.pete bubonic wrote:Oh dear, Chef played, what is in my opinion, the best dubstep set I have heard this year. I genuinely wish for the good of everyone that Pinch recorded the set. Appleblim, Wedge, Loefah, Pinch, Peverelist and CHEF!! absolutely killed it. What a fucking big night.
And a special mention for Peverelist played some ridiculous amens. Oh dear. And another mention for fucking CHEF!!!!!
oi oi.....top night!
big up to all those who came down, place was ram....
Chef nailed it with a set a lot of folks down here are sayin is the best they've seen....some new faces down there too, gettin turned onto the sound....
it was all about his super-tight mixing and the new Skream stuff he was dropping....don't have names, but u can guess how amazing they were......ALL about benga's mix of 'cha' too....it'll be a shame if that doesn't see the light of day....
loefah, peverelist, pinch & pokes = killer combination!
pokes is fast becoming one of my fave MCs period, and thats including grime MCs, he just totally knows how to warm up a set, and keep people entertained and informed...and hearin him chat over jungle was a revealtion....he has got some DEEP lyrics....proper sing-jay style...
there was a moment which really summed it up for me, i looked up as loefah was gettin ready to mix in another bit of science, eyes closed, totally lost in the music...then i looked over and saw pokes in full flow, also eyes closed, just totally inside the music....seein these two old mates revisiting the music and loving the moment summed it up for me....
don't wanna get cheesey, but jungle holds a lot of dear memories for me, and has informed and influenced the direction of my life....you know, friendships, raves, missions, gigs, tune-spotting, hearin yr mates tunes on pirate, watchin them set up labels, and so on, and all the time LOVING THE MUSIC...somethin to be cherished innit... *wipes a tear!!*
haha - out to all the ravers, past and present....A Way Of Life indeed...and as Pokes said, "what we're doin right now comes from all this"....
