If a certain type of music really needs a name, this type really needs another one

Its just house at the end of the day and personally house dosnt interest me that much. I do like 'Do you Mind' and a few other tunes but unless someone starts making some darker or bassy stuff Im never gonna buy it.

boomnoise, negative criticism should be encouraged. didn't we both get that memo in 2007? stop trying to ruin death metal and save the seals as well. hugs and warm wishes to you.

i DO think its a bit silly chemical putting it in the dubstep section but i just they're just being sensible...i.e. capitalizing on the fact that loads of steppers are into it

funky house is shit, and i dont really understand why its so popular in the grime/dubstep scene.. all these suposed badboys wearing flatpeaks and trying to look really serious listening to some grimey dubstep tune, and then also enjoying the utter travesty that is 'funky'.

or maybe it's more about music than looking cool in a flat peak cap listening to "grimey" music

shit i wear nikes sometimes, BUT I ALSO LISTEN TO WORLD MUSIC

i was wearing a purple gap woolly jumper yesterday WHILE LISTENING TO SPEED GARAGE

How can i possibly look "really serious" now..oh me oh my, my world is falling to pieces

Most of the funky Chemical are stocking is much closer to grime than it is to funky house. You really think "Yellowtail" sounds like something Defected would release? Maybe it needs a new genre name, how about Slowca? Lover's Grime? Bongotronica?

I think this is kind of why people give a shit about it tbh.

Also, I know the genre name is a bit confusing but it's been around for a year or so now and we've had a thread on it about once a fortnight on average, are there really still people who haven't figured out that Hard House Banton isn't quite the same thing as Head Kandi?

funky is the good shit!!

when i need inspiration for interesting drum patterns, i usually go to my rinse fm sets and what have you of marcus nasty and the like...always interesting things gwarningggggg

it's just good to get away from halfstep, or shuffly 2-step, or wobbly shit, whatever....some good house is some good bizzle for me!

(check out what XI does with the funky, defo. an interesting take ;))

Allright chill out mate, the rudeboy thing was just some i personally find quite funny, but about funky.. i think its terrible, sounds like the kind of thing you'd hear blaring out of some shitty overpriced cafe tent at at the big chill or something.. gay little bongo samples and really weak beats.
