I dont get it..

Who else has pushed this shit like me......Since 2001/2

I normally just browse the forum but cant sit back to shit like this.

I hear you bro keep doing your thing and fuck all these people learning about dubstep now.

Ive met you personally and your a very laid back person who loves the music and shout out to quest aswell everyone making this music is friendly and laid back and like the saying is behind every successful person lies a pack of haters just shows your moving forward and doing well.

(Just gotta add been in to the house and garage since 1994 when jungle and garage were emerging since i was 6/7 years old big up all the old school groove city records massive.)

Not to seem harsh mate but you could've searched and found at least 50 threads that are just on skream's individual tunes to get a feel for what people were feeling towards the man. I guess you know now though, whats that bit about hindsight?

no

because his music works on different levels. skream's tracks work mainly on dancefloor. i wonder what kinda person could listen skream on sunday evenings with a glass of wine in front of a fireplace?

the basic difference i guess is - skream produces dubstep, whereas boxcutter produces music
boxcutter is not beyond anything..sigh

he makes quite fluffy IDM to be "appreciated"

I actually think Skream does what he (skream) does better, he obviously has that secret formula to make dancefloors go completely nuts

whereas Boxcutter is an ok thing to listen to at home, but mostly pretty throw away due to over glitchyness

Iv just picked up on this thread and cant believe how many pages its been goin on for,

Why cant we ignore these threads rather than keep adding to the shit every time.

The true heads in dubstep are getting pissed with all these waste threads why does everything have to be so deep now days? why cant we just apprecieate the music we love and support it to the fullest.

Skream - I don't know you personally bruv but I know that you've worked your arse off from day one, wether I like your music or not is irrelevant because thats just personal taste.

Not many people get a 9 plus page thread about them so that's an achievment in itself, bigger you get the more haters come with it.

You don't really need me to say this to know your a don but I thought I would anyways.

Keep on keeping on bruv!

Respect

this whole thread is a joke!!!!!!

the truth of the matter is skream is a leg end!!!

be it u think he is overated or a genius, we all own at leat one of hes tracks!!

i personly feel that he is a very important part to what dubstep was, is and will ever be!! to get in that postion that you one of the 1st names mentioned when anyone even mutters the word dubstep is a sure sign that he is a genius! not many people can claim they are one of the founding fathers to a music genre! and all he did was make music he likes!!!!

above is spot on. boy is a legend no doubt, whether u have been a fan since day or u now just think his music is quite throwaway he has done so much for dubstep and imo has given lots of young producers a platform from which to create music. i mean having tunes signed to tempa when you are barely 20 is no mean feat.

wish he'd make a few more tracks like Skreamizm 1 stuff, though

Respect to Skream for posting.

I know Quest said he produces music for himself first and foremost - and i know this to be the case with a lot of prouducers... but one thing you've gotta remember is that as soon as you put something out into the public domain, it's there to be shot at, and - inevitably - the more success you experience, the more people are looking to knock you off your perch.

As with most things in life you've gotta look at the positives, and where there's constructive criticism learn from it. The people that hate on someone for no reason, and are willing to slag someone off over the internet without offering anything positive or constructive aren't worth the time of day.

Also, whilst i agree that the thread title is pretty stupid, take a look at the first post... the guy was clearly just trying to gauge opinions, and not set off a stupid knee-jerk thread with a loaded question... the title should have been the starting point for a proper discussion, and not the be all and end all.

KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING SKREAM. No one doubts your contribution to the scene... even if they don't appreciate your music.

boy's got a knack for making good tunes. it all seems so effortless with him too, like he just throws these brilliant tracks together in an afternoon. sometimes I feel like he makes a few too many tunes though, and the quality control aspect gets lost. nonetheless we can thank him for stuff like Angry World, Hitch, One For The Heads, and I'm not even gonna mention the classics.

This is the most stupid thread i have ever seen!

@ 1 point during late 02-early 03, the whole hatcha 10'' dubplate box was just pure early skream and benga tunes. These tracks back then was the most intresting tracks in the early days ov dubstep, im sure even @ that specific point, the scene wasnt officially even called dubstep.

As far as im concerend, skream & benga are just two names who wrote the instruction book for this scene. They are ONE of the main reasons why people are involved in this music aswell as Digital Mystiks,Leofah,Kode 9,Benny Ill & Horsepower,Lombardo,Mark One(Mrk1),Plastic Man(Plastician),Oris Jay/Darqwan,SLT MOB,Menta/Artwork,EL-B,Roxy,Ja Da Flex,Hatcha and a few other names to mention, i dont need to mention all names, ive earned my stripes for sure in this shit, i aint got fuck all 2 prove.

All im saying is, have some respect b4 you post bull threads on here coz it makes my blood boil!

About is skream a genius or overated???
Man is a pioneer in dis shit, and man was 15 when it all started.

I'm not just passing through and saying it, but I definitely agree with Heny G's words and the others who have cited Skream as a pioneer.

The reality is that it was Skream's "Mid Night Request Line" that got me into dubstep and I know from what I've read on this site and elsewhere that it goes the same for many others.

It really seems as if the internet over the last couple of weeks has been going hate mad. I mean it's often a place with it's own fair share of hate, but recently its been so damn abundant on blogs and forums a like.

It's cliche and cheesy as hell but more love in 09! Lets leave hate in 08! :D
