All of which I have witnessed tear up a rave. But I can just as easily put on some of his stuff when I'm sitting in my house a just relaxing.
couldnt have put it better myself.

For real

No Doubt about it these are too extremely talented individuals that helped pioneer and shape a scene. They smacked it from young period.

but come on, what about the rest of the man dem? we were on Mission FM/Y2K (North London Station) together alongside my boys (d-Man and H.O.D), slaughter mob etc same time as you (if not b4) and lets not forget the Garage Weekender on 1Xtra Ja Da Flex alongside myself, Toasty, Skream, Vexed, Oris Jay, Hot Flush, Virus Syndicate, yourself, Search and Destroy, Landslide and more. Surely we made this thing together? ::edit:: on top of that i swear it was Dangerous and Vicious that coined the phrase. As far as i am concerned it weren't a name that was 'chosen' its just a name that stuck.

So lets be clear these guys have been doin the justice from day but your statement about where this all began needs revisin, this scene didnt start out in a loan shop in croydon ;)

I will tell you the story of Skream! as it applies to Bright Maroon...

I started listening to Dubstep - mostly through downloaded mixes via internet - and I am really bad about not following up with track listings..well I kept hearing about Skream..Skeam this Skream that..and eventually I was like let me figure out what songs Skream has done -

I started going through Skream tunes and I knew so many of them already by heart..I was like I KNOW SKREAM!..Skream is all over this..

..If I had to pull all the skream tunes out of the mixes I have..there would be alot missing..so to worry about genius or rating - is weird - when the work has been done...it's called keeping it up - that's a big up..

..now what would really suck is if he had no one to pass the dutchie to..cause he would have no rest..

My god this thread has made me have a good laugh.

someone has something negative about one of the big boys in dubstep on a 'dubstep' forum and everyone needs a little piece of it.

Massive lols aplenty.

imo it's put wrongly
he's very talented and most of his music is original and well produced
so he's not overrated
but he is 'hyped' and a hype is never a 'good' thing caus than this 'rating' doesn't come forth anymore, people accept this artist as presented without havin' an objective judging on his material...
most artists who bring a new/underground/... genre or sound up to manny people become 'hypes' and later on get a lot of dissing and criticism... logicly...

so I wouldn't say overrated but his tunes get loads more attention that a lot of other tunes out there that are just as good...

I never even liked midnight request line and a lot of people almost killed me for that :D

well the man himself is currently on tour in New Zealand and Australia and I would just like to say that Benga was my hands down fave producer/dj but it was narrowly eclipsed by the skream/benga combo due to the insane performance at Phat 09

Big up yourself sir, you are an inspiration, keep it up!

i think he's tremendous and don't care how rated he is....

sure he's made a lot of tunes i'd skip but thats me....some tunes hes made are truly amazing...i don't think there is a stronger release so far for what he does than skreamizm volume 2...

yes kuture , you hit the nail on the head , lots of u know me i been on here for a long time , have contributed to the scene and made lots of good friends through dubstep and now more and more i cant be bothered with this place , the amount of people who just come on here gab off about so and so pisses me off , the problem is this was a community , and as one member , put it then the village got invaded , so if your an invader , bring something nice to the table ,even if it is negative , voice YOUR OPINION with a degree of respect , cos when u say , skream this benga that quest that , well there all just fuckin people like you and me , and if im tired of it , im sure they are .

respect to any member using this community properly

There seems to be some confusion here. It appears you think this thread is "Is Rogue Star a genius and did he start dubstep with his mates".
