flstudio8 playlist/loop problem

Post by beardsarefree » Sat Jan 10, 2009 9:37 pm

im still new to fruityloops and sequencers and i have a feeling this is probably such an easy problem to fix but i just can't seem to figure it out....i was messing around with some drum loops and it seems every time i play a pattern of this loop, it multiplies in sound or doubles up on itself when it starts over.....can anyone tell me how to solve this overlapping? i tried changing the beats per bar between 4, 8, and 16 and it still seems to multiply in sound when i play it as a pattern, and overlaps in the playlist step sequencer

also of note, when i put an 8 or 16 bar pattern in the playlist sequencer, it will play this pattern until quite some time after the pattern is no longer there, which i think is the problem mentioned above, but not too sure.

hope this makes sense and someone can help me!
cheers

The loop is longer than the amount of steps in your sequencer and probably running at a different tempo.

Set the tempo of FL to that of the sample, and the number of bars in the sequencer to match those in the loop.

em...

left click on the sample/loop.
channel settings will come up.
go down to loop - use loop points - turn that off

for the sample that keeps playing.

right click on the sample/loop.
piano roll - left kick - a little tick should come and a window with the piano roll. the sould should stop when it reachs the end of the bar in the piano roll.

hope i understood you properly
:)

its a dubstep drum sample at 140, which i have the tempo set to. and no matter which amount of bars i dial in, the loop still seems to double up on itself and multiply in volume each time it repeats which is what i dont understand...

Do as DROKKR says and drop it into the piano roll.

Or chop the loop into 1 or 2 bar sections and rearrange, or better yet just Recycle the whole thing and build your own up.

Here what I do..

Load up the sample..

Ins > Vol's ADSR - turn the attack and release all the way down turn up hold, decay an susstain

drop it into piano roll and then it plays all the way through and stops when you want it to..Or if its a 8 bar loop after doing that, and the tempo is right it will keep looping

Or right click it in the browser > send to slicex or send to fruity slicer..

Also if its stopping before you want it too... try reverb and delay at something like 4:00 or 3:50
