advice on monitors...

Post by arisaris » Mon Jan 12, 2009 6:39 pm

I m about to buy some monitors and i m around these(price-range):

Yamaha HS80M
Fostex PM-2 MkII
Samson Rubicon R8
KRK 8 G2
Mackie MR8

I ve heard the hs80m krk8 and rubicon, but there s no place to hear the rest(buying through internet)...
I favored hs80 (even though they look ugly)but they were in different shop so that might made a difference.
I read some reviews that make me favor the mackie MR8 as they appear more suitable for bass music(also for the hr reputation and their good looks too) but i cant hear them and cant decide...
If anybody uses them or have heard them...might give some help
Thanks!

I've got the MR8s, they are awesome mate. I've used the Rubicons too, they are also great for the price.

I use the MR8 down the studio day in day out and they are never tiring. Amazing for the price. I did have a problem with the first set I got, but I changed them and they've been solid since.

I actually did a full review of them last week here:
