petition not to introduce sound control devices

Post by techdub » Mon Jan 12, 2009 8:36 pm

Thought this petition may be worth signing, which makes a change.

From the petition.

It has been brought to attention that the government wish to consider it a legal requirement in the new tax year to introduce laws insisting anyone applying or re-applying for an entertainment license must have a noise control device fitted to the venue. This will be the final NAIL for ALL entertainment in the UK as the level at which these devices CUT you off is dreadfully low and damaging.

PLEASE DO NOT INTRODUCE THIS LAW, WE LOVE LIVE MUSIC!

Ridiculous measures, too loud then wear earplugs.

Are we only losing top-end, or max output? I mean a low-pass party with 10 more bass bins added to crush the neighborhood sounds in order. That'll teach 'em.

Why do they feel the need to invade every facet of our personal lives. They need a good fucking punch in the nose.

I cant see them actually implimenting this - its just too..... stupid.

all it means is that live gigs will be held in carparks behind vans fitted with a hench system, or in private warehouses like back in the day of acid raves - the goverment dont want that.

It's the unavoidable result of the welfare state. Once you give the government power to decide what's best for everyone, they'll try to expand that as much as possible.

went to see a mates band in a pub where they had a 'sound limiter' installed it was awful.... basically everytime the snare hit everything would cut out completely....
it was there due to 1 neighbour complaining and has successfully ended all live music in that particular pub as you couldn't get through one song without the amps/ p/a turning off.... we do not need this in clubs too!! shocker!
