Sick film, Casey Affleck is incrediblore.
this is one of the few films that ever put me to sleep. for me it just kinda meandered quietly, not really doing much. there were some positives though, i liked the last 15 minutes or so, the cinematography is great, plus the soundtrack is really good (the ending credits tune is sublime).
Someone's been watching too much manga :P  Joking, of course.

Personally I thought the tension was incredible, and Casey Affleck's performance completely blew me away. Plot is reminiscent of The Talented Mr. Ripley in a way, but much more understated. I think I could watch it again soon to be honest, I feel it's one of those films you can get more out of from repeated viewings.

Just watched Once. Nice, simple, romantic little film I never would have liked a couple of years ago but I thought it worked really well. Couple of the songs are really nice and it's just all very, well, nice.

-Kidulthood and Adulthood - Good set of movies about some troubled youf innat, blad?! I liked 'em both.
Danny Dyer is a prick who can't act in the shit he appears in, kidulthood and adulthood are so bad and removed from reality it's untrue.

Australia
overwrought, corny and suss digital manipulation,
certainly no compliment to Australians and
no one I know wants to admit seeing it
but, mmw, however long it takes, it'll be a classic.

it s about a guy (a sympathical looser, like myself). he collects jazz records and he draws comics about his work and fellow workers. i think he got cancer in this movie, but i dont know this for sure.

may be someone knows the name of this movie?

This weekend:

Buffalo Soldiers - Good, quite funny at times, pretty tense... Ed Harris is great, as is Scott Glenn. Lots of twists - seemed like it needed lots of attention for a Friday night smokeup.

Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb - AMAAAAAAZZZIING. Can't believe I'd never seen it.

King Of Kong - had to watch it on my own as my housemates flat refused to watch a documentary about geeks playing computer games. For a film about Donkey Kong it's amazingly exciting. Really didn't expect to be shouting at the screen at the tnuc who holds the record.

Tess - Roman Polanski's Tess of the d'Urbervilles. Dodgy westcountry accent from the (possibly Russian?) female lead. Good though, amazingly intense at times for a PG.

The Wrestler
amusing at times (the match with staples and barbed wire)
leads are effective
but there's no story!
Needs to be less hyped so expectations lower.
