Re: These synths work!
It should just speed up mid note. You can play with the sync LFO rate while a note is playing in massive - you just can't automate that. I don't see how that would work for that.MIXOTIC wrote:I use cakewalks Z3ta+ and Rapture which both have automatable LFO sync tempo's.
Massive is a kick ass synth so they need to include it in a future update.
for now like stated earlier, I would make 4 or so instances of the same synth(inc effects) and sync each to the desired tempo and move from one to the other.

that's the issue i'm having, kind of pissing me off!AXiS wrote: The only problem I see with that is that I like to change the wobble speed in the middle of a held note sometimes. I don't see how that would work for that.

I'd say sync is a must the general percent of the time, fair enough you can do it without but it wastes precious time you could be spending on creativity... As it is automation and unsynced rate seems to be the only way
I find it shameful some of you people don't know about LFO rates, syncing and automation, you should learn a bit more about subtractive synthesis before even attempting this stuff!

And what is syncin got to do with this?
Thanks
To automate Massive's LFO, simply assign say LFO 5 to a filter cutoff. Go into the LFO tab for LFO 5 and uncheck synced under rate. You can't automate the LFO rate in Massive when it is synced. When you are automating you have full control of the LFO rate not just 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, etc rates. You can't create an automation clip to control the synced rates (IE: go through 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 etc only when your automation goes up and down or if your using a controller and tweak a knob). Your only option is to use unsynced rates for automation and draw them synced yourself if that is what you are after. Once the rate is unsynced, tweak the rate knob up or down and then create an automation clip through the last tweaked parameter option. This is the basis for automating non-native VSTs in FL.

nice one for that, but how do you create an automation clip from the last tweaked parameter? im using logic.
I think this is what people are asking about? You can also view all the automatable parameters of non-native plugins under Current Project - Generators for synths etc and Current Project - Effects for fx. It was a minor revolution when I discovered thisrelik wrote:This has been touched numerous times. People just need to read posts or the manuals for the software they are using. HOW?Rob Sparx wrote:You can automate LFO speed via pitch wheel in predator/albino whilst sync'd - you can hear it doing exactly that in my single attack of the wobble (http://www.myspace.com/sparx3000) or just about any of Bar9's tunes!

Using albino and logic, you can select an automation parameter called LFO 1 Sync, which gives you access to the synced values. Then you can draw in patterns like this:

Not sure its possible in massive though, but tbh, albino > massive any day of the week.

actually this sounds like a much easier way.cataract wrote:You can bounce down a recording of your wobbling sound to a wav file. then do the same thing with your lfo rate changed, then just mix the .wav files together to get the alternation between ratios.
Cataract, you are from Melbourne? Me too.
