"If..." is BRILLIANT. I first saw it with my Dad when it was on TV at some point, but bought it on DVD recently when I saw it on special offer. Absolutely amazing film.Abs wrote:Basicly, you'll have probably seen most of the films mentioned, so look out for this one.. it's called 'If...'
it's got Malcolm Mcdowell in it, was filmed in 1968 in a boarding school, it shows them putting up with all the shit and general life in the school, then they eventually pull off this massive armed resistence... good stuff, cult classic.

They don't make them like that any more...
High Plains Drifter
Clint Eastwood is a badman.
Straw Dogs
Dustin Hoffman gets it tight in Devon in the 70s.
Papillon
Talking of Hoffman; an Oscar-worthy performance alongside the not-living legend who is (was) Steve McQueen.

think visual feast, akin to hero (have you seen that?), combined with an awesome narrative, beautiful actors (gorgeous little italian girl is incredible in it) and you have one brilliant film.
Latin language so it's similar but yet the differences are huge.
also, I enjoyed rocknrolla from the most recent ones. haven't read all the thread, sorry if already mentioned.

thankyou for the clarification. isn't she gorgeous in the film. i wonder how much of each scene was unscripted? she seemed incredibly natural.a of dkr wrote:the gorgeous little girl is actually Romanian.nesslei wrote:IT IS AMAZING. cannot recommend it strongly enough.reverendmedia wrote:interested by this. what's it like? that J-Lo one he did (The Cell?) was actually alright (i think - it was ages ago when I saw it).nesslei wrote:the fall
