my mate described it best, "sauce for white people"

I don't mind it, it's not hot enough for me (and too sweet), I prefer proper jerk seasoning but its quite nice to cut some chicken up into strips, leave it in the sauce over night with a few chopped scotch bonnet chillis, garlic and bit of worchester sauce. Take it out the next day, slap the chicken strips and the marinade straight onto a hot griddle, then whack it into a pitta bread with a bit salad. Nicer than Nando's and doesn't cost you a fiver for half a chicken breast with a bit limp brown salad 8)

Same could be said about curry house food. It's all made with powder and too much butter.

Curryhouse curry is an english dish. Its not meant to be true to the original, which if my memory serves me right is normally just a meal to get rid of the "bad meat" by overpowering the taste with spices.

Pfft.

Get an asian to cook you some real asian food and you'll know exactly what i'm on about. Curryhouse food was created to be palatable to the western world - it's wank.

And, I dunno about you, but I don't eat bad meat - it's a pre-requisite for getting worms or e-coli or some other nasty shit.

I am pretty sure the "bad meat" is an english invention too, a racial slur almost, it's utterly rubbish. But yes, some curries such as chicken tikka masala was made for the british palette.

Haven't read the article but there's some stuff about the subject here:

As Jazza said, real asian food tastes totally different. I lived with a lass from Sri Lanka for a few years and she cooked some of the best food I have ever had.

fried bread sandwich with a fried egg in the middle, add a tasty helping of reggae reggae sauce
then add Sriracha chilli sauce.
then add chopped up sausages that were fried in butter
or bacon.
but sausages are better.

That is mighty munch.
