Re: Can dubstep learn from the mistakes of DnB?
Interesting to read this thread in the context of history unfolding. "Communicate with the people...through the passage of time".
Re: Can dubstep learn from the mistakes of DnB?
and here we stand, with great music still being made in both genres

pretty true statement right there. just pointing it out.martyn wrote:I dont think thats true. Look at house (since early 80s), look at hiphop
or techno.. All older styles than dnb or dubstep.. Theyre all still around,
they branched out into cheese but they also branched out in a smaller
segment of high quality innovative music - same will happen to dnb and
dubstep - who knows maybe the genre name will change a couple times
but who cares - genre names are only meant for journalists anyway lol.

Re: Can dubstep learn from the mistakes of DnB?
dubstep is the next step to music being just 'music' again. no other genre has such diversity featured in it's music.
Re: Can dubstep learn from the mistakes of DnB?
i hope im not the only person who thinks dnb is actually better than dubstep atm
Re: Can dubstep learn from the mistakes of DnB?
you are, dnb right seems like it's all jump up or liquid. not about it, the best dnb was made before the year 2000.thrush wrote:i hope im not the only person who thinks dnb is actually better than dubstep atm

I agree with Dillinja but J majik is still making good tunes.craig wrote:disagree with this.lean_tunes wrote:quality producers will always produce quality music in my opinion

The thing is there is so much good dubstep being produced right now but also a lot of shite. Most people (on this forum particularly) seem to focus on the shit they hate rather than the stuff they dont and chat about it.

every genre will always have it's prolific artists but dnb is nowhere near as alive as the dubstep scene will be for a while.bassmusic wrote:nah there is some sick stuff out there right now. from Calibre to Serum to Lynx and even dubstep's own DJG or Reso...gonzodj wrote:you are, dnb right seems like it's all jump up or liquid. not about it, the best dnb was made before the year 2000.thrush wrote:i hope im not the only person who thinks dnb is actually better than dubstep atm
