Most of the people I hang out with are in their 20s. 30-somethings tend to get a bit annoying, boring and downright depressing what with starting up families, mortgages, calorie watching, lack of motivation to do anything. Although tbh it tends to start from the late 20s onwards. It's quite refreshing to mix with people who're still pretty much carefree and aren't entirely jaded yet.
Pah I ought to have you over my knee and give you a good slippering for your insolence young man :D .Tbh there's quite a few young uns who have absolutely no motivation in life other than settling down, spending 40 odd years in the same dull as ditch water job then dying.I find I'm more motivated the older I get to try new things, see new places etc.Probably got something to with the sense of time ticking on and the desperation to pack in as much as possible before i snuff it[not having the burden of kids helps as well].Gonna hit the big 40 in Sept and can't really say I give a fuck about it[this may change as the big day approaches tho]
Firkles is right too,the sex is way better imo .

Just you wait man.... It happens to most of us, you realize that being a jackass your whole life will not get you anywhere. Carefree doesn't quite work well once you realize that you need to get your life in order. Bought a house this year, and it made me realize I don't want to be poor and living off welfare the rest of my life. Gonna be self sufficient dammit, starting this year... I feel my priorities are where they should be.

I wish I had this knowledge I have now back when I was 20. I realize how much of an idiot I was back then, with everything. Yet this year I feel I have made more strides in my life than at any other time, and I am starting to be able to get what I want out of life, which at 20 or even 28 I still had no idea where I was headed, and honestly, I was WAYYYYY more depressed back then, as everything was hopeless to me, feel inadequate and useless. I'm still not where I want to be, but at least now I'm on the right path.

34 yrs. old.
LOL you're only a year older than me...I hope I don't turn into the typical 30-something within a year! It's good to know you're on a path you're happy to be on now though.

I look at things slightly differently - I think that younger people still have some of that elusive optimism that gets lost so easily and quickly. As I like to believe I've still managed to retain some of that, that's probably what makes me enjoy mixing with them as much as with other people. Of course, I could also be a psychic vampire draining their optimism dry to fuel mine.To be honest, I mix fairly well with people of most age groups (not much dealings with teens and 40-somethings though).

Anyways, I've just bought a house, am pretty much self sufficient and still going out and doing shit. Unlike pretty much every 30-something I know. Admittedly, I'm still a sad, lonely, single person who has to hang out with younger people because he can't find anyone his age to hang with...

Did I mention I might not necessarily be the most mature/sane person in the world?

Tbh there's quite a few young uns who have absolutely no motivation in life other than settling down, spending 40 odd years in the same dull as ditch water job then dying.I find I'm more motivated the older I get to try new things, see new places etc.Probably got something to with the sense of time ticking on and the desperation to pack in as much as possible before i snuff it[not having the burden of kids helps as well].Gonna hit the big 40 in Sept and can't really say I give a fuck about it[this may change as the big day approaches tho]

:D

I used to go into spells of doing new things every few years or so in my twenties. Been trying to keep the momentum going this time, two years and counting now! In a sense, I had a relatively boring 20s so I'm making up for it big time now!
