Anyone who produces really experimental melodic music like James Blake is going to divide opinion. And there will always be people dying to get their distaste in that heard!

Personally I think you'd be mad not to appreciate James Blake, his skill and ideas. Even if the music isn't to your taste! I find him real inconsistent to my personal taste, but things like his Roll with the Punches remix and some of the beats on Hessle are like nothing I have heard before. So massive props to him for that. Talented guy.
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

I'm sure he's probably quite embarrassed about the hyperbole the music machine is currently spitting out about him. His music is good, it's the industry that's getting carried away. Doesn't deserve personal attacks.

the fact that James Blake was able to depict psychic moments so intriguingly
is incredible in itself
apart from the fact that he, himself, that individual, got to exist
amongst all the molecular interactions in the universe
that's pretty fuckin' spare chances man
but he was as is i and you
unbelievabubble.

'Air & Lack Thereof' is one of my favourite releases of 2009, I seriously love that track, However I can't stand any of his other stuff, that Stop what your doing remix is awful. Also the release on Hessle is weak. Don't get me wrong he is a very talented producer with unique sounds going on which I respect but its just not my thing really. Similar to how I feel about joker

love the CMYK ep, his maybes remix, and the destiny's child bootleg. there's nothing else like it, large sounds.

"Sparing the Horses" is the one that grabbed me by the collar and wouldn't let go.

I appreciate JB's adventurousness in making music. It doesn't ALWAYS work for me, but that's how it goes. Music is subjective. It's all soundwaves bouncing off of someone else's eardrums.

Sometimes music isn't meant to be easily digestible for the average listener. Sometimes it is. That's music. I like music. :)

He was in NME last week.

Ive got to give NME credit where its needed, they are doing a brill job of representing the talented side of the dubstep scene.
And they've had quite a few articles on brostep etc.

James Blake gets way too much hype. I don't find him that talented, just really really really boring.

James Blake is amazing for me because he mixes the sounds of 8 bit and 16 bit digitalisms but then warps alot of samples of vocals and such and gives a whole organic side to it as well. I <3 james blake
