Plus the question refers to musical influences, if you dont even know fuck all about your own musical influences then what chance have you got?

Yeah, thats kinda what I mean when I say "what chance have you got?"

I've got nothing personal against the guy but he doesn't really come across as the most passionate about music, disappearing soon indeed.

The only good thing in his tracks are the samples. He somehow manages to butcher those as well though, with the insanely-loud snares that drown out the entire track and the insanely-low wobbles in the background.

That interview was done years ago. Besides, since when was it a rule that musicians had to have dictionary like knowledge of artists and track names? Just cos he isn't into the same shit you guys are doesn't make him any less passionate about what he does. He has been doing this for nearly 5 years now. He may not know or care about history or anything like that, he just does his thing, and people dig it. He has been doing just fine doing what he has doing, and just because he isn't an expert on burial or mala doesn't make him any less passionate about the music he makes.

And about his production, he has never had any help or training in anything to do with music production. He is entirely self taught, with no label or ANYONE to help him, so of course it's going to be a bit rough in the mastering etc. He does it all through a pair of shitty logitec speakers. And by the looks of it, noone really gives a fuck about the technicalities anyway, they enjoy the music for what it is.

haha, besides, he's exploding, you guys aren't, so this thread is pointless really, falling to deaf ears.

being new to dubstep in general (via martyn, burial, distance, vex'd etc) i cn see why people buy into it. it's not hard to listen to, it's got elements they're already comfortable with.

Exactly, it's not dubstep. Because i posted a comment on that shit siera leone song now homophobe. comments my tunes on youtube saying "this is shit mt eden is better" when its 100% different from that peice of shit.

Got a few requests for mt eden. Personally think the production value is poor. I know some people go for an underproduced sound but some of his tracks are quite unlistenable imo
