I liked it a lot for the in-jokes of the Intervention spoofing, and of course finally bringing Towelie back. Been wanting a Towelie episode for a long time. I get what ya mean though, if you don't like those characters then the episode wouldn't be good.

Insanely high expectations aside, the episode fucking killed me. At least half of those bits where it went to words on the screen with that guitar noise had me on the floor.
