i would get a completely new kick drum first off, the one u have in there just sounds weirddddd for some reason, but it might just be my ears.. besides that the sounds are very cool but i found myself losing interest.. i feel like it needs a heavier groove maybe?? either way u should keep it up, i wanna hear wats next!
jheart wrote:working on this tune right here.. seems to be missing something i cant quite put my finger on. any feedback? btw the songs layout wont be exactly like this, its kinda random right now towards the end. but yeah

Soundcloud
HATS!!! put some shuffle in it and soak it with HI HATSSSS!!!! the bassline is gr8, but it def needs sum more hats.. layer up ur drums && get it knockin. . . after that its straight on the way 2 being a certified tune..
We Bang wrote:Soundcloud

Tune still in progress. Layout is done now for the variations and a lil more additions. Let me know what you think.
like the stabs a lot but i feel like they shud be rave chords, if u kno what im sayin.. big ol chunky ones!!! the snare rush is perfect && u got tension + release down 2 a science.. the way you've got it chopped at around 2:40 makes me feel like a new synth shoulda been introduced though.. great stuff tho!

thx for the feedback =) and def will be puttin some more hats =)
also We Bang, your tune is sick =)

@ the phantom banger - fuck yeh man, i'm loving this :D i'd love to see the end result

Soundcloud

likin your track. nice and chill. like the beats, especially when they fill up more. feel it could handle a few additional sounds/fx without being overcrowded. maybe something more in the high freq range. sweet track overall. keep it up dude.

First post on dubstep forum, been trolling for a couple months now. Big thanks to Yoni and Futures for getting my wobble game going

*THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT A WOBBLE PATTERN/COMPLETE TRACK*
Needs work..
I kno the wobbles clip during the vocal drops
I need to make the beat more interesting, just have 3 loops running
The wobbles need to be structured better, maybe make the pitch changes match the wobbles

Hopefully the mix is okay, thats about all I would say is near complete but it was done with headphones
Next posting I'll have a second wobble variation for 16 or 32 bars, better drum pattern, some musical elements and eventually rewire everything so I can fade everything nicely and lose those mute/solo clippings.

Please, some feedback... how's the wobble sound? Sub bass? My wind? Decent mix? Keep in mind those and the drum loops are all that's in here so if anyone has suggestions for an instrument part you think would sit well in the mix let me kno.

Thanks
I really like this, the wobble is good because there's not too much of it and its well patterned! I also thought the mix was quality (although I'm no expert) but even through laptop speakers, it sounded really crisp and clear but with a lot of depth. I get what everyone means about the vocals, although for me they work quite well (although I think a few of the samples came in slightly off beat - not sure whether this was deliberate or not!) but I don't know whether the vocals would work when the track is mixed into a set (this is personal taste of course...)

Let me know when you've finished it and if there is anywhere it can be bought/downloaded from - I'd love to use it in a mix! Keep it up man!

love it, this is sounding really good. I'd say bring up the high end on that guitar sample to bring out the acousticy vibes, that and as you said sort the levels out.
Good idea, appreciate it.

joekool - that track is sounding amazing, not much to say

phantom banger - I really like that synth and the sound of your drums, throw some sub in there and maybe change the drums up a bit in the final version!

donpablo - really liking this one, very very chill, i like the belly sound that comes in about half way through...you handing this one out?

Hello ! This is my first attempt for a dubstep track. In fact ... the first time I produce any type of "dance music" type of tune :). I am of course looking for feedback and anything that could make this tune a little better ! This first attempt is kind of 50% of the track and I'm missing some kind of cool down moment. I've been trying to figure it out but I have some sort inspiration drop down. I'm also very worried about the mixing. So really any help about the track, the cool down moment and the mixing will be suuuuper appreciated :D

like it, but do u have sum kind of sidechaining going on w/ the kick? its so loud, u should high-pass it around 110 hz and then boost the res if possible.. its totally muddying up the rest of the track..

Production sounds quality, good job here, I would work on the break before the drop, the bit where the guy says "breakfast"? extend the drop for a few seconds more there, is that a sample from time crisis I hear lol? Otherwise, mixing sounds solid, I wouldn't worry too much about levels or EQ just give it a few dB boost with a slightly wide Q in the 2-3KHZ to add some crissp and clarity. The song definitely is missing something key, perhaps sample, vocal, etc. that is why your having trouble shaping the drop and breaks, so find something that really accompanies the rest of the track.

Stuck on it, can't figure out where I should add the break/structure the intro. Any ideas on simple song structure, bar intro, etc. or is it simply just of personal preference?

Cheers.

reaaly like this, the background synths are pitched brilliantly, hypnotic groove, awesome. i would add more bass in the second drop  and maybe add a different hat line in at some point to build intensity? would like to hear the finished thing!
sounds great. as far as structure goes, i reckon intro with hats and background noises slowly filling up more and more, making patterns of their own etc, then bring in bass and drums. pretty basic i guess but i am unsure how to fit in breaks and such without ruining the flow of the track...
love the intro, wicked drum sounds and build. agree that the drop ("breakfast") needs more space and clarity, after that interesting bass patterns, i like :D keep it up!

not dubstep, but i just made this and would love some feedback! mixing is not attempted yet as its 5.30 and dont want to wake people :) basic structure laid out, will add builds atc soon...

Got some sidechaining going on yes..what exactly is loud/being muddied up by it?
It might be the headphones I'm on but I've listened on 2 separate pairs and everything sounds clean. It's supposed to be fading in and out if that's what you're talking about. :?

kochari - nice work, but i think the drums should be a tad bit louder, but maybe thats my shitty headphones.
haack - its good if this is just the structure, it seems a bit repetitive. Also you should turn down the breathy sample that is on the second half of the track a bit.

Karanp.
Not sure about the first break part in the drums it loses a lot of flare when you do that. I'd add different drums for the break add more flare.

Love the drums sounds but. Maybe fatten the tom up a touch.

Add more sub and itl be sounding sweet

It could do. But i'd layer the clap with something else it sound to "out of the box" and I don't like the hi hat sound but maybe thats just me. When it starts to kick in it shows real potential get the drum pattern worked out and you'd definitely have something

yh i've already changed the hi hat sound, it was a basic one i started to get the pattern down, but i cant be bothered to keep re uploading

I'll try layer something over it and see what i can come up with.

cheers for the pointers though dude, i'll keep working on it !

THANKS !!! I'm going to go into a sample crusade or even make my own (I'll try buying some sort of recording device). Your point on the drop here is really pertinent I'll try to put in a just another bar in here maybe teo would be too much ! Any comments on the bass line ?
