best part of this thread by some distance, everyone that raves about doctor p and what not should be placed in a room and forced to listen to youngsta set's, its funny how no one really talks about the mixing when doctor p and so forth are raved about, completely discounting a huge part of listening to dubstep imo
Seeerious.
This is why i'm growing tired of the scene in my hometown..
It's proper shit.
The whole scene is ran by money grabbin' bitches who only jumped on Dubstep when it started gaining a bit of attention.
Now they make waste nights, with waste acts. On the odd occassion they'll have a decent line-up.. but it's always ruined by sticking someone on for the pill munchers. Fucking annoys the shit outta me. The crowds that the scene has attracted really puts me off going out these days, and the fact that half the 'big' names can't dj for shit and are purely booked to bring money in. I know it's business and there's no escaping it.. But I don't wanna pay £12 to see some idiot churning out 'banger' after 'banger' with no care about the mixing, whilst having to deal with pilled up wasteheads who are tryna eat each others faces off, with no shirts on, sweating the room up, stumbling over themselves.. and then deciding to have a fucking mosh pit when Sweetshop is played. :u:

Yes. I do the odd gig sometimes after bands in Liverpool, and i play stuff like Kryptic minds, Mala, Coki, Kode9, Skream (Mostly his old stuff), L-ow, Headhunter, and the people who say they are into dubstep have no appreciation for it, they just shout out "PUT A BADMAN TUNE ON!" "PUT SOME MT EDEN ON". I've never listened to Mt Eden. I'm 5 years younger than most of them are, I'm 16 and personally i think i have better taste for the 'real' stuff. Stuff i consider to be music and not just noise, stuff that you can really tell effort and thought has been put into to make a really good song. Don't get me wrong, i like some of the midrage stuff sometimes, like once or twice in a set, but i dont understand how people can just listen to the same wobbling shite over and over again.

YES. Everytime I try and explain this I get called arrogant and elitist. I'm just pissed off that I've watched more and more chavs jump on every night and I can't enjoy myself anymore without being surrounded by sweaty idiots throwing themselves around the room to brostep. Perfect analysis of what its turned into anyway.

Dunno, but I'm gonna keep saying Dr.P's sound is just ripping off 'when I look at you' until he makes an account here and personally tells me to fuck off.

I feel like the only one who hates that 'When I look at You' bullshit. I'd take Sweet shop over that shite anyday.

One of my fav brostep tunes though, is Harry by Bare Noize. are they still making tunes ?

When I Look At You had a very short shelf life. No disrespect to Emalkay though he's made some proper hard tunes.
