No one can doubt Deapoh's contribution over the last 18months to dubstep and how barefiles has given the sound international coverage.

for this deapoh deserves and rightfully gets the credit that is owed to him. He has provided a source for people across the world to hear dubstep. Without him the sound would not be where it is.

However I think most of the comments that have followed deapoh's statement have been rash.

Ammunition/Tempa/FWD/Sarah provided the original house for this sound. Started one of the the first labels and made success for people such as Horsepower, Hatcha, SKREAM, youngsta and D1. + others.
I have just come back from FWD where Dizzee Rascal and the newham gens killed it. Who is to thank for this?

This sound didnt begin with barefiles. The organisation that you are all slating has never once not backed this sound, from a monthly thursday to a weekly friday.

Without FWD no live hatcha sets, without hatcha mala/loefa amongst many others would not of had that particular platform to showcase their beats. if there was no exposure for these artists where would dubstep be today?

I think you should remember the role this organisation has played in what we now know as dubstep.

Deapoh provided rinse sets. And now rinse wants to provide their own sets. Isnt this deservedly theirs, even though it is a pirate?

well i think we are more talking about the recent actions of tempa/ammo, i dont think it is in question how much either one has contributed to the forming of dubstep.

Deapoh = don, shabily treated.

The real heads will always remember that.

What else can you add.

Deapoh promoted Rinse and Tempa and FWD without wanting anything in return. Sarah is a businesswoman, with all her years at EMI and pushing ppl like Shanks & Bigfoot, im sure shes very aware of what she's doing. I just dont think its very tasteful.
nail hit squarely on head with that post.

as someone once said to me: "if you wanna know who's the shady one, find out who stands to make money out of the situation. that's the one to keep an eye on."

:o :o :o

ok for whatever my words are worth i gotta say all this:

first of all huge respect to deapoh once again, real proud of u still young man!! am proud to have been ur mate since the early/pre-barefiles days too... seen it from the side n u've worked so hard and have played a huge part in this sound spreading worldwide... definately has increased the scene, record sales + rinseFM getting popular. no fucking doubt. huge respect each & every, dean.

next thing, shaaame on rinse... i really wished this sorta bollox didn't come to this scene which i fell in love with early 2004 when it was still all fresh/underground/tru to heart sorta people... i mean going to the first dmz of my life and askin mala on email to put me on the memberlist, himself replying + even sending an email to peeps who attended thanking for coming & hoping they had a good night.... thats when i was like wow... shit... this is something different, aint like dnb got during its many years...

anyways yeah big shame on rinse, geeneus, ammo, sarah... stupid stupid moves from them... i will definately not listen to rinse anymore nor buy tempa releases, no respect whatsoever.

but here we go into the positive side: look at it this way fellas, this action is also taking dubstep back underground. theres bare amazing dj's/producers NOT LOCATED only in the UK (and also UK heads who dont get their names out like the ones on rinse/whos tunes rinse dj's play)... this can also be a positive thing and take things back to the way it was... if people realise this...

gotta say out to SubFM, Reload-Radio, Streamizm, etc etc! we got NUFF good DJ's and sick selections to listen to on all these net-stream stations, and its the real thing that dubstep once was, not people trying to make money & get big... still no disprespect towards all rinse-related peeps obviously, but I mean... I really hope all these smaller stations will take on and people will start to notice that theres huge talent outside of Rinse too. DUBSTEP INTERNATIONAL MA FAKA! Very much thanks to Deapoh once again.

I reckon we can get barefiles full of good recordings from lotsa net-stream stations and there'll be plenty of chance to spread the sound even more... i dont think all the shows need to be even physically hosted on barefiles but linked to the sites that archive the different net-stream stations recordings? as well as other countries FM station recordings (like we got shit on Bassoradio all the time, FM&net-stream)... Barefiles got nuff name that all this talent could get recognized thru exposition on Barefiles.

bottom line: i reckon its always best to look at the positive side of things when crap happens like this... only way FWD>>>... lets consider this as a new phase in the music we all so dearly love! now Dubstep CAN be a truly worldwide phenomena and we can show how much this music has to give, from all these producers & dj's makin moves in countries around the globe!! aint need to be only the superstar-DJ's at rinse who people listen to, tho all the respect to all those! lotsa safe people (HOLLA N-TIZZLE/SKREAM/YOUNGSTA ETC ETC!!!)

but yea once again, big up deapoh for standing up and letting people know the details bout this... you're a big man n people know it!!!

can't wait to see barefiles back up again! big ups to everyone workin hard mixin/producin/throwin shows/playin gigs/listening+enjoying to people who do this shit!!!

Take all you amunition assosiated records and burn them in the street.

This just sounds like classic bullying. They've seen the good that bare files has done and seen £££££ signs. Like Deapoh says they've capitalized on his hard work and then basicly told him to fuck off. Waste.

Anyway lets not underestimate the good that barefiles did/does for the scene.

Your chest Deapoh.

PS This would not have happened if you weren't doing something right.

The fact this thread has gone to 8 pages in about 12 hours speaks volumes. Ammunition needs to listen. Half as many as the DMZ thread in one night. LARGE

Erm, that's getting a little bit silly now

Fuck em Deaps. Outside London, Barefiles is bigger than Rinse surely, they should have paid you for the free hosting :D

Good to see everyone getting together in support too - nice little community we got here.
