I've just been told the tune (the one i was thinking of anyway ) is 'Traffic' by Distance, the clip is here:

Erm, first time poster (so don't 'ave a go innit)

DMZ was amazing... proper reminded me of going to old school 'ardcore raves (yup I'm an old f*cker)... and good to see it step up a notch from the last time I went to it (um DMZ 4 I think) ... But what was the name of that track (Benga I think) sped up dubby bassline, detroity bleeps and synth sweeps, and baleric guitar licks... I NEED THAT TRACK

I blogged my initial response if neone wants to know: http://dot-alt.blogspot.com/2006/03/dmz-goes-off.html.

I had a wicked time, despite my hankering for the survival of 3rd Bass as a dubstep venue. :D

Roll on the Mass-3rd Bass dual venue jump-off!! That would be sweet.

My pants were fluttering by the draft from the bass at some points. If that's not a sign of a successful party, then I don't know what is

if we're talking about the tune that sounded like a distance tune with the guitar sample and then a skanking keyboard riff, heavy tune..joe dropped a traffic vip that was ridiculous..

big up to distinction, subliminal, etc and dmz and all the djs for making it such a big night..

got there at 4... was surprised to find everyone upstairs lol

enjoyed vex's and chef anyhow

didnt think the system in the main room of the mass did the music enough justice. Dubstep sounds a lot better in small confined spaces with a heavy soundsystem imo.... which is obviously gonna be a problem cos the scenes seems to be growing BIG TIME
large up the dubstep crew

wow....where do i begin? (i havent been by the pc for a few days.)

i guess the best place is the beginning. I'm more than happy that the DMZ dance is such an overwhelming success -- and i'm pleased to be involved in the growth of the night and the sound.

Ultimately, it's all about the music and the people that support the sounds -- and that's each of you. Producers. Bloggers. Journalists. Photogs. dj's. supporters....everyone. the sound is growing and we are all growing with it.

I'm equally as happy that you all loved what i flung down for two hours......you know, when the music is going and the crowd is hyped up, 2 hours feels like 20 minutes. The towel is in effect (always) and so is the FIVE.

FEW MORE THINGS:
1. the 2000 Ravens defense is better than the 85 Bears defense.

2. Yes, i want the sidewalk to light up like that Billie Jean video.

3. Shouts out to the freezing cold crew -- aka, the people that were standing outside @ 9pm before the doors opened up. I'm right there with you all. Believe me.

4. Shouts to the Brothers Boyd for bringing the horns and the paper #5.

5. Plasticman was clearly the best dressed person in the building. Obviously, he's sponsored by Adidas. Sharp as always!

6. Who else had eyes for the girl in the orange and black/blue striped top ? Looking thick !

7. Chef is gonna have all of us wearing ties real soon.....even at 5 am.

8. Everyone played massive sets, but Skream's set -- nuff said. A lot of fast fingers in the booth when he was on deck.

9. Shouts to the international crew: Orson, Pavel, Seckle, Mr Q, Corey, Craig, Tim, Atomly, Child, The brothers Boyd..........everyone.

10. thanks to everyone for showing up. We all are a part of history...

11. I think it's gonna stay at Mass, but the days of 3rd Base (as we know it) are over. I think it's gonna be on that stage in the pit area on the floor.
Change the lighting and visuals a bit, tweak the sound -- you've got a new and improved dance. How intense is it gonna be when the room is dark and the crowd is staring down at the dj and the bass is rumbling through your chest? give that a thought......

ok all -- i'm jetlagged. bedtime !

First of all, big up Joe. Heavy set on Saturday, certainly got me fired up for the night ahead! :N:

If DMZ does move to Mass (and I don't know if that would happen just yet), it would be great to see those changes. Getting down from the superstar DJ box and onto the stage would be a great move, and bring back a lot of the intimacy. Changes in lighting and visuals could make a huge difference too...it did feel like Mass was in 'preset-mode' a bit on Saturday (for obvious reasons!). A 'big, dark, packed out room with the bass rumbling through your chest'? Very intense indeed! :o

Seriously, those changes to the venue could make the bigger DMZ even more exciting...

Is Mass even that much bigger than 3rd Base? It's a bigger room, (really high ceilings, which cant be great unless you have the power to fill that huge empty space) but does it really hold that many more people? I'd be pretty sad to see it leave for good.

I don't reckon they'll get numbers like that again for a while... it was the first DMZ after Dubstep Warz, there were loads of people who missioned from other countries and parts of England who probably won't be down again for a while too. Also, the place was emptying out rapidly by 4am. The place was pretty quiet when Vex'd came on, and even more so when Chef came on.
