It's a decent book, read it awhile year ago. Nicely different from most of the usual physics books. Although I thought the later chapters weren't as good as the early ones.

If you're looking for another un-dumbed-down book, I'd like to suggest Lisa Randall's Warped Passages.

he ice skates pretty much all the time, very little of his work was written whilst not ice skating... fact.

that's a coincidence, i was watching a few docs about him over the weekend.
they were saying he did portraits of the girls and customers in a strip club on a regular basis.
