I travelled from London to Venice, then got a bus from Venice to Pula. Flights to Venice are really cheap, and a return bus ticket is about 48 euros (we took the public transport, not the Outlook transfer buses, the transfer buses are cheaper). If you're from scotland you can get the train to somewhere in the North (Liverpool, Manchester), and get a flight to somewhere in Europe (Venice, Zagreb, Trieste, etc) and get a transfer.

I did Outlook for just over £400, and that included staying in Venice for 3 days, so you don't need that big a budget. I really reccommend Outlook, it was the best 4 days of my life, no joke. Can't wait for 2011!! :corndance:
Fellow Dubsteppaz, Id need some advice please!

Now, This part - can someone please oh please fill me in on this?
I have huge difficulties seeing that there would be specific TRANSFER buses going directly to Pula, Croatia, from Italy?! That does not happen in most European countries... How do these work, any clue where to find schedule, how often they go, etc.?

I will be going completely alone (yep no I know listens to this music basically), so if anyone want to join me from Venice onwards would be nice :)

I am about to book flights and transport now, and still considering if I should fly home from Venice to Malta (where I am living) the 4th or 7th of september?? Anyone have a clue how to even get from the festival safely and easily to at least Trieste? (From Trieste, there are loads of trains to Venice anyway)...
I read in another thread about TAXIS? What about these? Could I call a taxi company from the festival and they will really pick me up? etcetcetc...

I cannot wait, this seems completly awesome!
Oh, by the way: Can anyone confirm if the camping is rather rock-festival-messy like or friendly and relaxed, rather quiet? I will of c bring earplugs just in case :6:

What about Boats from Venice to Pula`??
Check this:

Anyone know anything about this?

You should be able to get a bus from Trieste to Pula. Outlook organises bus transfers from the airport directly to the festival site. Check if these are still available. Otherwise, last year some people made their way into Trieste itself and found buses to take them there.

Sent my passport off today, getting real excited for this :) First time travelling without the family as well (first time abroad since I was 13 too) so it's going to be an experience for sure.

@ alkemisten2: Below is the link for the coach timetable from Trieste to Pula. It is perfectly safe.
http://www.croatiatraveller.com/Transpo ... stria.html

So, if you are flying from Malta to Trieste you need to:
*Take a bus from Trieste airport to the coach station (the bus stop is right outside the airport door and tickets are available inside)
*Buy a ticket at the coach station and get on the right coach. It leaves at 14.30 (2.30PM)
*Enjoy the scenery for the three hour journey
*Exit the coach at Pula coach station and then get a taxi to the campsite or wherever it is you are staying. Agree a price with the taxi driver before you depart.
*Enjoy bass.

On the return journey I would suggest you stay in Croatia until the 7th because the coach from Pula to Trieste leaves at 05.00 (5 AM) so if you leave on the 4th you will have to miss some of the festival.

Hope this helps.

Hey mate, thanks a thousand!
However, I will clarify a bit what my schedule looks like:
ARRIVAL TO FESTI:
From: Malta - 18:45
Arrive: Venice Marco Polo Int - 20:45 (only available flight)
Probably I will simply stay over in Venice and take the direct coach to the festi for somewhat 35 quid

DEPARTURE HOME FROM FESTI:
Option a) 4th sept.
From: Venice Marco Polo Int - 21:10
Arrive: Malta - 23:05

option b) 7th sept.
From: Venice Marco Polo Int - 21:10
Arrive: Malta - 23:05

Seems like option a) is rather tricky, and I am aware that I will miss out a little on the festi...
The biggest questions are regarding how to get home from the festi at all on the 4th of september - Taxi to Trieste? With option b) I can easily take the festi coach yet again: Pick up time 13.00 7th sept. from Outlook; for flights departing Venice Marco Polo 21:00 or later.

Still wondering about this option NEPTUNE mentioned
"a return bus FROM Venice to Outlook - ticket is about 48 euros (we took the public transport, not the Outlook transfer buses"

Cheers!!

From Venice to Pula the bus came at 11am. (You'll have to get a taxi from Pula to the festival site.)
I didn't take public transport on the way back to Venice from Outlook, I got one of their transfer buses.

I suggest leaving Outlook on Monday 5th september, get a transfer bus to Venice and spend a few days there. It's a lovely place, and you can get really cheap accommodation. This is what I did last year and I had such a good time. You'll meet loads of people from the festival in Venice.

Put this in the other thread but here it anyway..

Been looking to try and plan a re-route to Amsterdam on the way back.

I've got my transfer back to Venice Marco Polo and my flight home is at 12:05.

A quick search found direct flights between Venice-Amsterdam for £85 however its quite a late flight so you get to Amsterdam at like 23:00 then you have to get to the City centre which for me sounds like a bit of a waste as getting to a coffee shop in time sounds a bit of a stretch.

There is a bit of a more expensive alternative (About £120 - £130) which is a flight from Venice >>> Stockholme or Copenhagen >>> Amsterdam. (Bit of a long way round I know). However it gets into Amsterdam at 19:30 which is plenty of time to head to a coffee shop, check into a hostel and not be walking around Amsterdam at daft o'clock on your own.

I'd stay at the hostel i stayed at last time which had a communal smoke room and everyone was very friendly. Get a decent nights sleep and then spend the day in Amsterdam and travel home to Manchester the following evening with a flight at about 22:00.

I totaled it up and for the extra flights and accomodation it will cost me about £200 more and I'll have to sort it pretty soon.

On top of that i'll need a bit of money for food and enough money to get to and from the hostel/airport and that. I wouldnt aim to mooch about seeing as I would be travelling on my own. Obviously some money for a decent amount of 'Amsterdam Coffee' to toke on all day.

I'd like some opinions on my idea really. Would you do it if you could? The only thing that im thinking is..

How worn down will I be after Outlook. Would I be ruined and better off not bothering because I wont enjoy it as much as I think I would?
Is going on my own a bit of a weird idea? I know it would great with a mate or 2 but thats just not possible with my mates who are going to Outlook living in London and just about being able to afford to go there..

In my head I think it is the perfect wind down after a festival and something that I might look back on in the future and be very happy that I did.

Hi mate, first off- check my previous comments - IM GOING ALONE TOO :corndance:
Happens sometimes, and hey - u will meet so many more people when u go alone.
I had a friend who planned on coming with but seems like he is skipping this one too.. :H:

Regarding ur plans, Im sure there are literally loads of people who will be stopping by the 'Dam on their way home, probably more on the way to the festi though... In other words, u will surely meet up with people who have the same plan and perhaps a few in cars/vans who are going from Netherlands/Germany who you can lift with (for a small fee I presume)

Oh, and regarding the 'dam coffee,,, can anyone fill me in on how much of this sh*t is found down in Croatia, or is it spare? Prefer green coffee indeed :U: :z:

Ive been told by people who went last year there is green available but its croatian quality. AKA (SHIT). But if it gets you stoned its a must. Any festival needs bud never mind Outlook. My mate went exit and said they only had Serbian bud which was shite. I heard its on par with Thai Stick

Dont take any with you though, that is silly the punishments over there go wayyyy further than back home. They are not in the EU which makes it even worse. FUCK SPENDING A NIGHT IN A CROATIAN PRISON. Im even a bit paranoid about smoking it because of the obvious smell. With undercovers about its easy to get gripped but I heard they are very easy to spot but even security at festivals with high viz on can come out of nowhere. I had that problem at Wakestock in Wales this year. Bitches came swarming over after i had a few spliffs.

It's not a random beach party, several thousand people will be there for the better part of a week. I think the Croatian police will have a pretty good idea how much drug-use takes place, especially since this will be the 4th year running. A great proportion of the posts here about Outlook have centred around the drugs policy in Croatia, and they all give the same correct advice:
- Don't cross international borders with drugs
- Don't smoke or do whatever drugs blatantly
- There will be tons of undercover cops around who are usually quite easy to spot. That did not stop a lot of people from getting arrested, put into jail overnight, being sent to court and then fined for quite a lot of money.
- The quality of what you can get might be a bit poor

Hmpf, ok..
Just very surprised, thought literally no one would give a shit at the festi itself, I mean in UK no one seems to care whatosever about a joint etc... Was visiting some small (what I would prefer to call) hippie festi in norfolk, and literally everywhere you could smell bud.. Seems like an awesome festi anyway, but bud takes it to 7th heaven
... and Undercover cops?! ... Seriously feels like a bit overdoing it. Oh well, perhaps ill take a seed with me and plant it, maybe there will be a plant as high as a christmas tree we can all dance around next year!!

Cheers!

It's just a cultural thing, weed isn't as accepted there as it is in western Europe. The undercover cops are generally quite easy to spot, but that didn't stop people from getting caught.

As for the UK, it really depends on where you are and when tbh. Wrong place, wrong time, and you will get arrested.
