What kinda style have you guys been dippin into, Medic? Kaiori?

I'm almost finished with mine as well and I tell you, mines kinda on the Deep side but really still in my own area of expertise which is the more grungy type shit, I dunno, I grew up listening to Nirvana.
But just kind of as an experiment (also cuzza some shit goin on in my life at the moment) I thought it might be cool to throw my hand into some deeper styles and its comin out spectacular. Not to mention 80 % of the heads here prefer more of the melodic ambient shit so i thought "What the hell..."

eeeeeeee I kind of like it too! is this what happened to Basic???

Yeh I started with trying to make a track to appeal to both audiences here, with deep but heavy. It was shit, so I scrapped it and started with my usual darkish deepish sound that I've been working on lately (not like the track in my sig).

Mine's on the deep end as usual, only thing I'm really experimenting with is my writing style, I'm writing using pitch axis technique, so the key changes every two bars or so, I'm not sure what other people will make of it. It's still quite melodic and ambient, but it feels a lot more moody and doesn't really sound typically major or minor since I'm writing using the modes. Maybe I shoulda just churned out something I thought people would like given that this is a 'vs' battle kinda thing, but I've never really done that before, always just kinda written whatever I wanted, so, yea, I dunno. Hopefully people will like it. I have faith in my fellow youngsters, so if my tune is a disaster I'm sure there'll be others to pick up the slack.

Sounds fuckin excellent all around for everyone involved and I am really looking forward to the outcome of this thing. I think a lot of folks involved will be stepping their game up to represent not only for themselves, but for their team. How old are you Kaiori? Dont know why but u always struck me as an older dude.

I cant really make a track that isnt fitting my personal mood, I noticed that recently. Just happened to be that it always felt and sounded strained and wasnt really "me", Cliche as that Sounds.

It took me years to develop my own sound, and after i got into dubstep, i kinda lost that touch that i once had with music as i was just trying to emulate the sounds and feels of the music that i so recently become obsessed with. Its really nice to finally find that niche where i can do my old thing, and still incorporate these new things i have learned too.

Haven't written anything in a week or two. Just taking a break, I figure I have enough time and tomorrow I'll probably start. Today I just wrote a report and enjoyed the sun.
