Would the first tune I had posted be acceptable if I had made it within the timeframe?

16 percussion tracks (including sends & buses) = my CPU is pretty much melting. fuuuck i really hope reaper has a freeze function otherwise i'll have to bounce out stems and that would make mixing down and editing a total pain in the arse...

not if you have compressors inserted on the channels, that way i can't go back and tweak them if something's wrong in the mix. and i really don't like the idea stacking compressors on top of each other...

anyway, i think i'm done for today. finally got a decent bassline that's not in your face and suits the track imo. might need some eq'ing and shit but i can't be arsed to do that tonight and i'll probably bother with it after i have the arrangement done (which would be the first time in years that i actually finish the arrangement before growing tired of the tune :corntard: )

Fix it in audio. Less clean = More character. :4:

Well I might actually submit to this. I came up with a nice melody out of nowhere and right now I'm rolling with it.

Guess I'm finished. I would do a bit more, but my Jack is failing me, and I won't be back home until Sunday by the looks of things.
I'll probably go back on it later, after the comp is done...

About my track... It's not going to be produced very well. I'm focusing more on composition. And because I'm using my guitar instead of synths and my mic setup is bad. So yeah.

Here's a preview of what I'm talking about lol:

yo dawg this is supposed to be anonymous :W:
anyway, nice guitar noodling! could you maybe record something for me after the contest? also what are you recording with? i tried playing my bass guitar + some fx (basically everything you do to reeses including frequency splitting) along to some beats that i made but have a delay of about 1 or 2 seconds so it can't be the fx causing the delay. and trust me trying to play a nice groovy rhythm with 2 seconds of lag is absolutely impossible

just plugged it into my onboard soundcard's line-in :corntard:

I have the Blue Snowball USB Mic, and it's good, it's just that my room is noisy (like -20 dB white noise). You just plug it into a USB port on your computer and then you can use it in FL, Audacity, whatever you want. I use the onboard FX on my amp (Line 6 Spider III 75 watt).

The delay used to be a problem for me when I didn't use FL, and instead used Ableton Live. I think it's just how the programs handle your soundcard or w/e. It's not even 1 second of delay in FL.

Officially finished, just gonna bandcompress.
FL says I only spent 4 hours and 32 mins on it, feels like so much longer..

Note to any listeners, mono isn't your friend :)
