Wow. got this the first day it came out... was blown away, but only after hearing Ghost Hardware played on MAH's show last night did i realise that it was meant to be played at 45... whoops. Meh i love the way it sounds either way, not gonna complain.

Do people reckon this is still soundforge-stuff? I heard he uses reason these days.

I got this about a week ago and I've been playing it constantly. I really like Ghost Hardware and Exit Wounds, that fusion of two-step and glacial/space with the samples and fuzz puts a shiver in my spine. Both those tracks still have the 'Pirates' style aesthetic deep in them, especially with the vocal sample on the title track. Its like he's taken something off Chicago FM ten years ago and messed around with it, bringing it into the future. It still has that paranoid, fucked up quality to it, a lot of his tracks remind me of the Photek track 'Hidden Camera' from 1996; but its also really sexy, I think it would work well on a dancefloor as well as my stereo.

I'd love to hear a 2-step set with more of this edge/slant to it, that guy Parson from texas also did one or two tracks similar, that beat still has a lot to be explored and experimented with and Burial's shown how it can be done with calculating effect, hopefully more producers will revisit 2-step.

There is a couple steppy things on myplayer on mtspace if you wanna chech em.1st and 3rd track.

i would like to see more people doin this too but i think think burials nailed it so hard no-ones gonna come close. sayin that those parson tracks are siiiick and trg has done some wicked 2step stuff so theres obviously still potential with the style...
