I have a wall I can't get over with production right now...I haven't been able to get anything good of quality. It all sounds like shit! I'll have to bust something out in a day...we'll see what happens.

Sounds good! I'm pretty hyped to hear what everyone has to put on the table. Mine is going to be half-ass quick/full-song but it's going to be something.

There's been some issues in my family so maybe that's why I haven't been able to throw anything out sooner.

Here's an idea. So this is gonna go on for a few weeks, and each person is going to come up with a combo of some decent and some not as decent tracks. At the conclusion, it might be interesting for everyone to pick their favorite of what they've created and then have it remixed by another participant (chosen at random) who was able to create&contribute for each week.

So the final week (post-season, so to speak) would be re-working, remixing, re-interpreting, or just tightening up someone else's song. Might be good practice/experience and could deliver some interesting results

Possibly a good idea? But tbh seems too complicated...I like the choosing a theme/quote for the week idea.

what genre is it? feeling kinda guilty that I produced more dub than dubstep this week.

mines almost done. havent gotten into the mixing yet, still on the arrangement/composition. First ambientish dubstep track is sounding pretty good IMO

ah, never mind. im gonna have to back out. got a little overconfident. not really at that level yet where I can put a full production together in under a week that I'd be comfortable with sharing with anyone. Maybe next time.

Hah, well I've got a million undeveloped ideas and unfinished tracks. I think I might try to complete the 1 per week thing and just keep things to myself until they are polished. Don't really want to share half-assed business. Trust, me anything that would take a week for me to complete would not be worth sharing or hearing.

Only time I share half-assed or unfinished stuff is if I wasn't taking it seriously in the first place. I've got two that I'm thinking of right now, but I don't think we're allowed to post unrelated soundcloud stuff in here.

Nonetheless! I'm stoked to hear what everyone else comes up with. Maybe next time I'll have my workflow a bit more honed to bang things out quicker that sound developed

meh i restarted my song this tuesday, so far iv only completed an intro. i tried my best to make it sound good but now it looks like im running out of time. i think iv failed for the first week

It was more ofe onday than one week tune, i started it yesterday at 4pm, because the original tune i was making sounded like shit. I'll post it up in a hour or so

yo, sign me up for week two. this thread sounds like a great way to hone my production..its kinda like cramming for an exam, only instead of getting an A you get a tune
