Pretty sure they still have that. Dunno if it stacks with the black friday discount.

I recollect being intelligent,
when I could think clearly & remember stuff.
I don't miss it really cos basically I was a know-all
about everything that doesn't matter.

If what lsd unlocks is intelligence
then I don't particularly want that;
over-stimulus & unintegratable profundity
is as unuseful as a backbone to a worm.

Intelligence is so often wasted on the stupid
or becomes a burden for the socially-conscious,
feeling obliged to employ it for our greater good
when any dumb arse can be kindly.

Braininess is over-rated.
I've used what I got, abused it & lost it
and turned out to be happier being a relaxed dullard.
But if you're not smart enough to realize this,
go ahead & pump them drugs.

:) got in first big guy!
(not that speed is analogous to intelligence)

edit: oh wait, I didn't get in first, you did
so is my lack of perception or slowness of reaction still not analogous to intelligence?
uh, my head hurts...I should stick to spontaneous drivel.

Good article, thanks :Q:

Also done a bit of extra reading as jump off from this;

http://andrewmcmillen.com/2012/11/06/ro ... mber-2012/

Guy takes a few different types;

modafinil - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modafinil
Aniracetam - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aniracetam
Alphabrain - https://www.onnit.com/alphabrain/

And gives some feedback. Alphabrain weak dose off one cap is a bit on the worrying side, but other than that good read.

Bout to order 500 grams of piracetam from here. Splitting it with my buddy. Hopefully we'll see some good results. 40 bucks for 300-600 doses depending on how much you take a day. Their US shipping is free and their international shipping is cheap.

You're gonna pay a pretty hefty premium for pre-formulated stacks. Buying bulk powder is significantly cheaper if you don't mind measuring and capping each dose. Probably won't bother capping the piracetam but there's other nootropics that are nasty to swallow as powder.

Modafinil/Adrafinil et al seem attractive but a lot more like a drug. I could use a wakefulness promoting agent but I wouldn't want to get into the habit of using it every day. They're a lot more expensive per dose as well.

Can't recall if I posted this, but to clarify something I said earlier, about modafinil... I didn't take modafinil, it was armodafinil, as I understand it not significantly different, but I did have a very adverse reaction. But again, I supposedly have some kind of damage to my vagus nerve, so just lucky me.

Okay picked up my Alphabrain over the weekend and onto day four of taking it.

Saturday - First day. Took two caps (suggested dose) shortly after breakfast. Nothing too intense planned this day, the missus and I took the train for an hour to watch the football. Felt slightly more chatty than usual and a bit 'speedy' on the train, accompanied with a slight buzzing sensation (not unpleasant) in the back of my teeth. Had an awesome day, felt floaty and in a fantastic mood despite it was pissing down and cold and we were sat down for a lot of the time. Put this down to seeing my team play (and win) than anything else. Went out in the evening with my mates, didn't take an evening dose as wasn't sure how it would sit with a lot of alcohol.

Sunday - No trouble sleeping, however I had taken 3 x ZMA caps which always help me sleep and provide lucid dreams. Had a slight hangover, however took another dose (of Alphabrain) with breakfast and it killed the headache/swimming feeling within 20mins. Didn't feel any after effects despite a long motorway drive back to London, and again felt the need to talk lots about music/news on the radio, more so than usual. Same when we arrived in London, chatty and felt the need to flick through books randomly reading chapters then turning my attention to something else or talking about it in depth with people. Slight speedy feeling again, but accompanied with a massive good mood I don't usually associate with the day following a large night out drinking.

Monday - Another day, another dose. National holiday in Spain so wasn't in the office. Wave of euphoria had me nearly giggling even going through security and passport control at the airport. Feel slightly less jumpy off the turbulence than usual, and couldn't sleep on the plane although this was down to the turbulence and general plane noise more than anything. Again, no evening dose.

Tuesday - First day back at work. Took standard two cap dose with breakfast. Buzzing sensation started halfway through my metro ride although slightly less speedy than the previous days. Once I started work, I blitzed my inbox of all emails that came in during my holiday in ~20mins, and moved onto archiving (which I usually hate), as well as general email stuff for resolving issues. Seem to be more productive than usual, and reading back what I've sent so far some of my outgoing mails seem to be less 'minimal' than usual, although everything in them is still explained clearly and without the use of gibberish.

Half life on these for me seems to be ~6hrs so will see how I'm doing after lunch. Overall, good fun to work on.

EDIT - I've also seen it fit to right the above as well, so think I might have some unspent creative energy I should look at channeling into something a bit more productive.

Sounds like you've already started to develop tolerance?

I've noticed a marked improvement in your mood. :lol:

Quite possibly, though today is the first day that I've had to get up at 6am, go to work etc etc...interaction with the world as a whole rather than just the microcosm bubble that I inhabited over the festive period.

The first few days are always a bit more overt until you get used to it. Not exactly tolerance, more like the end of the honeymoon.

My piracetam should be here within a couple days so I'll post my impressions of that.
