dnb would be great considering most of us dsf "elders" all have some sort of dnb vinyl release -w-

thats another reason why i thought it wuld be cool
see if i can go toe to toe with a couple veterans and also get to hear and learn from some solid new tunes in that style

dnb has become odd now it's mainly liquid funk or clownstep jump up
something teels me the voting would reflect it even with a solid say tech step or neuro tune
hell shit in my sig is solid drum workout and barely commented on but downloaded like mad

and a third reason
to inspire a handful of new tunes that are of the classic jungle/dnb vein

i was actually just downloading that, hah. tune is a workout. I'm trying to play some of that in an eclectic hip hop set actually

i'm half tempted to do another comp like last one i threw but with drumline samples to start
drums are so underused

i think the only major artist to use em is current value and god i love him

and he owns drums

still think jpop/kpop would be great
we have loads of people talking shit about pop and it's an alternate to top 40

i don't get the appeal
especially for a comp
i doubt anyone would be interested enough in the tracks to listen and vote on them all
Why not? The brostep competition was huge success and think about how people feel towards that stuff compared to breakcore... it's a better suggestion than a Japanese or Korean pop music challenge.

i didn't know it was supposed to be things we allegedly hate
i just thought bro has a direct connection to the overarching theme of these forums, as well as a bittersweet relationship

these have little to no relationship to dubstep, really
but also bro was a genre you can make patches, sounds, samples, whatever kind of drums you want, but it all has a similarity of sorts

breakcore, afaik, it's like distorted aggro breaks, period, end of story
noise, well.. it's noise

i guess thats no reason not to do a round of competitive production, though
it just seems too niche and unrelated
but anyway, if there's a comp im not interested in, i'll do as i always have, and just ignore it
I suppose i don't need anyones permission to attempt a dnb tune either
so whatevs

I guess you're right, we all know jungle but not many "know" breakcore and gabber... it isn't just "distorted aggro breaks, period, end of story", you should check out the breakcore thread, you might like some. Maybe that's why i think a k-pop- j-pop challenge is ridiculous cus i so not know it and have zero interest in getting to know it. But isn't hip-hop and jungle a bit played out... oh well... guess i don't need permission to continue doing this shit, big ups

actual snares in renoise
the finished tune

breakcore and gabber is harder than most think

Well yes of course it is, who said breakcore easy? There isn't really any rules to abide by so their isn't standard things to go for and become easy routine shit. It isn't really anything. I just think it'll be great to see what everyone comes up with a very vague set of guidelines and see just how creative they can be. Gabber, not so much though.

Hey Deadly Habit have you had any breakcore or gabber releases?

Oi, there is some sick gabba, but you have to dig Titanic deep to find it.....

Yeah i know there's sick gabber, i was making a point that it doesn't reach the complexities of what is normally called "breakcore".By the way if you guys have any decent hardcore gabber breakcore and noise post it in the breakcore/noise/other thread in the hideout.

@ Deadly Habit, that's weird man, i would have thought a prolific dsf elder such as yourself would have at least one gabber release under your belt.
