[quote="fustrun"]Any attempts to pitch change something high pitched like that resulted in some robotic and "sharp" sound/quote]
Then maybe you're pitching it too abrubtly or you're initial sound had a lot of nasty harmonics. Use EQ?

And yeah i did EQ still . . can't get that "smooth" pitch bending . . there was a VST i saw on the WAVES mercury pack called "Doppler" i think which simulated kinda like a "Flyby" sound . . like things passing infront of you and then going away again, thats the closest VST i saw that simulated something similar but it's just not that . .
Could've just posted the link, honestly, the man knows how to use his mouse click.
Posting an entire wiki page is too far, you went from being a smartass to a straight dickhead.
EDIT: the worse part about copying and pasting is that you didn't properly cite your sources

lol, not everything has to be electronic music ya know. I didnt listen to it all so dont know what it actualy sounds like, but that sound at 1.25 just sounds like a huge CYMBAL, being hit slowly and quietly and first and then building up to a big crash.

You can kind of just do that manually by automating panning. Are you automating the pitch bend in long sweeps?
Also @ everyone saying a cymbal, as a piss take or not, I think the sounds he's on about starts at around 1:25 in the background; the pitching noise, not the splashy cymbal dead on 1:25.

Guys guys guys, how do you get a good sounding sidechaining piano? Like when I do it, it does not sound as smooth as I would like it.
PRIME example @3.31 (pretty much the end of the song, its NOT in the beginning):

This is what i ment, not the crash itself, that's easy thats why when he said cymbal i was going
I'm automating the pitch but i don't really understand how i could achieve that effect using panning ?

it's a gong or some sort of cymbal, your best bet is to find a large and thin piece of metal and scrap it to get the opening sound, then pitch it down an octave and layer with a lowpassed and reverberated kick.
for the synth part, get a filter with a screaming resonance (high Q) and send white noise or a feedback loop through it and play with the resonance to tune it. That free Driver thing by NI works great for this. You can also sample and timestretch an airplane turbine.

This thread is just fucking stupid seriously... the guy's just said he doesn't want the cymbal sound.
Edit: Just for clarification, the sound I'm talking about (and what I think the OP wants) starts at 1:25 and extends to beyond 2:00... its a paddy synth, in the background, it pitch changes, its not the fucking cymbal/gong/metal/splash dead on 1:25 he's after.

im cuntfused. The cymbal is the splash. is the pitchbending synth he's talking about also somehow a cymbal???

In FL, with peak controller. I turn down the decay so its a little slower, and i turn down the tension, so it sounds more like a slow moving LFO kind of, but it sounds, abrupt and...nasty.
